The town is apparently doing this just for the purpose of being seen to be doing something, while doing little for actual affordability. New Canaan buys Avalon property for $75M with plans to turn some units into workforce housing trumbulltimes.com/news/article/n… via @trumbulltimes

@hughsbailey @NewsTimes Daunting logistics aside, if you deport 10m people, it will create a labor crisis in agriculture, hospitality. Restaurants will close for lack of dishwashers, while lettuce and strawberries rot in the fields. Dairy farms will be desperate for hands. Inflation will skyrocket.

The premise of the article seems to be that President Business will come into office and magically spur the local housing market. The word we're looking for here is "zoning"

The conceit of the headline is not only should this not be approved, but it shouldn't even have come up for a vote? Is that right? Despite neighbor concerns, Greenwich 13-unit apartment building with affordable housing set for vote greenwichtime.com/news/article/g… via @GreenwichTime

@trumbullbrod From what I can tell building apartments leads only to a tsunami of traffic and schoolchildren. Often simultaneously

Also, spoiler alert, neighbors don't believe the traffic study's conclusions. Imagine that!

At some point we could realize that people are *always* going to say this stuff, and that maybe highlighting these kind of objections isn't all that useful. Darien Residents Push Back on Thorndal Circle Apartments ctexaminer.com/2024/10/30/dar…

As always: Not only does nearly every CT suburb have declining school enrollment, but the biggest driver of additional schoolchildren is single-family homes, and not apartments CT developers focus on a popular niche: Age-restricted communities courant.com/2024/10/31/ct-…

The state, in fact, needs both more apartments and more tenant protections. Also, it's not uncommon for something to take a few tries before it gets passed CT landlords ask lawmakers to incentivize housing ctmirror.org/2024/10/30/ct-…

If you read the story, the suit is actually about failure to abide by the state's housing laws. Same difference 'The civil rights issue of our generation'? A battle over housing erupts in Massachusetts usatoday.com/story/money/pe… via @usatoday
