Could a leopard be your spirit animal? They are iconic. They are elusive. Their spots are more striking than any polka dots on a fashion runway. Sadly, leopards are another species in decline, as hunters continue to slaughter them for trophies. Their heads are hung on walls and their bodies skinned for rugs and trampled underfoot. On #InternationalLeopardDay, we echo our call to protect wild animals by banning trophy-hunting imports into the UK.

Last week, The Animal Law Foundation, @ciwf and @humaneworlduk helped coordinate a letter sent by @SarahDykeLD MP to Dame @angelaeagle MP, Minister for Food Security and Rural Affairs, urging @DefraGovUK to bring forward mandatory, clear and consistent animal welfare labelling on meat products, and to strengthen enforcement against misleading claims in food marketing. The letter was signed by 22 cross-party MPs and members of the House of Lords. 👇

At #MoreForScotlandsAnimals hustings last night, positive takeaways include Scottish Greens and Scottish Labour pledge to ban farrowing crates and modernise wildlife legislation, SNP highlighted importance glue trap ban enforcement, cross-party support on welfare food labelling.
