@rdar1999 @pwuille The mind boggling part is that the mere act of picking a random point in between doubles the interval. 🤔

@rdar1999 @pwuille The problem might be stated incorrectly. It should be "what is the expected sum of time since the previous block and time to the next block". Because I think "time between the previous and the next block" is still 10 min. Even though the random point is 10m away from either.

@pwuille I voted 10min, but I think the correct answer is 10min from the previous block + 10min to the next, thus 20min.

@karma_machine I haven't thought of that, fascinating. It does feel a bit like gold miners are cheating the system...

@karma_machine In the "traditional" system the hungry person transferred the debt owed to him by society (recorded as gold in his hands) to the apple farmer. "the society" is now in debt to the farmer. (not a comment on your idea, just thinking outloud).
