If this amazing K9 force multiplier was hurt in that beating to the point where he has to medically retired- like what happened to K9 Hurricane on the White House lawn- reminder the vet care falls completely on the handler. HR 3144 is currently sitting on the Hill - with 26 bipartisan cosponsors – that will ensure these K9s’ veterinary care post-medical retirement is covered by our tax dollars instead of burdening the handler sometimes to the point where they can’t get the care they need. The bill focuses on federal K9s, which frees up incredible charities like @hurricane_k9 to cover this kind of K9 at San Diego PD. Tell your congressman you support the Honoring Our K9 Heroes Act!!

At first I was pissed watching him hit the dog, but then the feel good moment came when the dog latched on to that piece of shit’s arm and took him down. Best video I’ve seen all day.

Happy K9 Veterans Day to all of our heroic working dogs, including Conan who fearlessly participated in the military operation that ended ISIS leader Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi in 2019. 🇺🇸

POV: You’re some dude who decided to jump the White House fence and sprint across the lawn when you see THIS face barreling at you at 937 mph. That literally happened in 2014. Secret Service K9 Hurricane gained myth status after he went to war with a White House intruder. They messed each other up pretty good, too, but Hurricane stopped him. Fast forward a bit—our very good boy became the most decorated K9 in American history. He was awarded the USSS Award for Merit, the Animals in War and Peace Distinguished Service Medal, the Secretary’s Award for Valor from DHS, the PDSA Order of Merit, the Animal Medical Center’s “Top Dog” award, and a bunch more. Stacked. Hurricane retired with his former handler and his family, Marshall and Lisa Mirarchi. They started a nonprofit called Hurricane’s Heroes (@k9hurricane) that provides vet care for retired law enforcement and military dogs. Long story short, this very good boy could not stop being gooder. Today, March 13, is National K9 Veterans Day, a day set aside to commemorate the service and sacrifices of American military and working dogs throughout history. Last week, Hurricane died at 15, surrounded by his loving family. Rest in peace, Hurricane. You’re an absolute legend. Stay caffeinated 🇺🇸☕️

The most decorated K-9 in U.S. history, he bravely defended the White House and spent retirement helping other working dogs through @Hurricane_K9. His legacy of courage and loyalty will live on. Rest easy, Hurricane. 🇺🇸📷🐾
