This landmark legislation, sponsored by Nominated Senator Crystal Asige, guarantees the rights of persons with disabilities (PWDs) to education, employment, healthcare, political participation, and accessible environments. It replaces the outdated 2003 Act and introduces economic incentives aimed at boosting resilience and reducing vulnerability among PWDs. President Ruto has also directed the reinstatement of the Disability Mainstreaming Performance Indicator in public service contracts, an important step towards a more inclusive Kenya.
