Our staff have been collecting toys and gifts for our local @salvationarmyuk in Preston, who will be gifting them to children who wouldn't otherwise receive one this Christmas. Thank you 👏

Did you know @hwymott we have 26 @samaritans Listeners? It's a peer-support scheme where prisoners volunteer & are trained by the Samaritans to support other prisoners with wellbeing when they most need it, while also gaining valuable life skills. #WorldMentalHealthDay 🟢

We hold regular family forums to discuss with heads of departments what rehabilitation activities are offered. If you have a loved one here at HMP Wymott & are interested in becoming part of the family forum, please speak with the @POPSFamilies team in the Visitor Centre.

As part of our Family and Significant Others strategy, we are offering reward chats so a family member in prison can be more involved in home life. These are available from our Family Development Worker in the visits hall.

Our prisoners have been able to showcase their recently acquired skills, learnt in one of our workshops, by crafting these bird, bat & hedgehog boxes for a local community project. This work has taught both technical & life skills while giving back to society. Well done everyone!

Last week we held the @HWymott 'Ways into Work' event to show local businesses and partners how the pathways we offer here lead to our men gaining valuable skills for sustainable employment on release.

Our most hearty congratulations to our Sikh Chaplain, Nirmal Singh who visited Buckingham Palace on Friday to receive his MBE awarded in the New Year Honours. A well deserved honour for his interfaith and community work, as well as his dedication to @HMPPS.

@MindCharity #TimeToTalk Day is the perfect day to start at conversation about mental health. Our staff are gathering over lunch today to talk, promote support services and debunk myths around mental health.
