Answer: This is NOT a ganglion cyst. It’s an acute traumatic injury resulting from direct blunt trauma. There could be a fractured metacarpal or extensor injury under there, but my guess is it’s just a very large hematoma—from broken blood vessels. Let’s see. Time will tell.
