With active flooding in parts of Ontario and more rain in the forecast, we want to remind customers about simple steps you can take to stay safe and be prepared. 🌧️Help keep water away from your home Clear debris from gutters, eavestroughs, and downspouts. If you have a sump pump, make sure it’s well maintained and consider a backup power source, such as a battery or generator. 🔌Water and electricity don’t mix If flooding occurs and water starts to reach electrical outlets, baseboard heaters, or your furnace, call us at 1-800-434-1235 to have power safely turned off. Do not enter flooded areas, such as basements, until power is disconnected. When outdoors, stay clear of ground level electrical equipment like pad mounted transformers. 👜Restock your emergency kit Having an emergency kit ready is critical during flooding or an extended power outage. Learn what to include and how to prepare at: ow.ly/MrPl50YK5v3 We’re here to support our customers and communities. Please stay safe.

🌷 Protect your home from potential flooding as warmer weather arrives. The real electrical risk is indoor flooding. If water's approaching electrical panels, outlets or baseboard heaters, don't enter the area. Call 1-800-434-1235 for a disconnection. ow.ly/VLQc50YH4bU.

After a storm, you could come across fallen powerlines in your neighbourhood. Don't get close. Stay back at least 10 metres.

Giving back is how we show up. Our customer care team was back volunteering with @frontlinesto, a Toronto based charity, helping prepare meals and bagging groceries for their community giveaway. This is one of the many acts of giving powered by our employee-giving program, Power to Give that fosters a culture of generosity, engagement, and shared purpose by providing employees with the freedom to support the charities and causes they care about most.

@HydroOne Hello, I'm having some trouble with my bill. I had an accident at work and broke my left foot last September, and I still haven't been able to return to work. Because of this, I haven't been able to pay my hydro bill. I'd like to know if there's a payment plan you can offer me.

Freezing rain is expected in parts of central and eastern Ontario resulting in ice buildup on power lines, tree limbs and equipment, potentially causing power outages. We’re monitoring the weather closely and are ready to restore power as quickly and safely as possible if outages occur. Parts of southern Ontario are expecting significant rainfall. If indoor flooding reaches electrical outlets, baseboard heaters or your furnace, please call 1 800 434 1235 to have your power safely disconnected: ow.ly/a1LX50Ys2PS.

To support rebuilding after the 2025 ice storm, we launched a Recovery Grant offering up to $10,000 per community for immediate recovery needs. In total, 12 First Nations and 38 municipalities received funding, announced during a tree‑planting ceremony in Selwyn Township—where the grant helped replace trees lost in the storm. 🌳💛

During the 2025 ice storm, heroes showed up everywhere, in our crews, our communities, and even in the smallest gestures. ✨ Kids sent drawings that lifted spirits. 🥪 Local businesses stepped up with food for our teams. 🦅 Crews rescued an osprey tangled on a pole. 🏨 Chippewas of Rama First Nation opened their doors with food and warm accommodations. These moments reminded us that not all heroes wear capes — and Ontario was full of them. 💛⚡

The 2025 ice storm demanded more, so we brought more. For the first time, we deployed drones to inspect damage in areas too dangerous for crews. We rolled in 17 pieces of heavy machinery to reach remote, rugged terrain. And our seven helicopters flew 245 hours over 24 km, helping teams assess damage and speed up restoration. Technology that helped bring Ontario back online. ⚡🚁

Today marks one year since a generational ice storm swept across Ontario — a moment that tested communities across the province and demonstrated the strength of partnership, leadership and resilience. Orillia was among the hardest hit, and we witnessed remarkable community leadership: municipal teams clearing roads, local businesses stepping in, and neighbours helping neighbours. The Chippewas of Rama First Nation opened their doors to our crews, offering warm beds, meals and a place to regroup. To coincide with the anniversary, we marked the opening of our new Regional Operations Centre in @cityoforillia, home to the crews who help power the Sunshine City and support communities across the region. This new facility, along with our nearly completed provincial warehouse, strengthens our storm response, builds skills and supports the regional economy. As Ontario grows and electricity demand rises, we remain committed to building a stronger, more resilient grid together. @JillDunlop1
