Only Carlsen 🇳🇴 remains in the 2800 club 🤯 When was the last time the 2800 club had only 1 players there?
Sindarov 🇺🇿 with his current play and 12,0/14 at the Candidates will cross 2800 too.
@DeepMUK539572@F_R725@dylanwang29@chesscom deep the result does nt always tell the story for eg fabi is not playing at his best his time management has been really bad hikaru is playing far from his best prob due to a lack of classical play against top players etc
@hypemik22@F_R725@dylanwang29@chesscom I personally belive 20 years old even peak magnus will not able to dominate like this ... You are playing against super grandmaster every day and sweeping the tournament. I firmly believes we are watching something amazing.
If he maintain his current form gukesh will get cooked
JAVOKHIR SINDAROV IS ON A RAMPAGE!!
Victory over Fabi ensures WINdarov will end round 4 in sole possession of first place - 3 wins, 1 draw, 0 losses! 🔥🇺🇿

@hypemik22@F_R725@dylanwang29@chesscom There is a high probability he will replicate the fisher sweep... Do you till you think 20 years magnus was as good as him....
@Kyrovannn Even the present ding did this in last championship. In his prime, I will take him over magnus even to defend engine prep where you are clueless. The thing with magnus is that he has great memory and plays dry, so he never finds himself in these positions.
Ding liren once played a game vs hikaru in candidates , where hikaru was up 1 hour and trapped ding in a unknown convicted prep. Ding just found all top moves over the board and made the draw. Hikaru himself praised him after the game for this. Ding was a champion.
"12...0-0 was not in my file!" says Nakamura, "and it was too difficult to find [13.Ne4!] over the board." Hikaru is unimpressed by the work done by his seconds, who he doesn't name but describes as "strong GMs"

@chookchookflea@chess24com it would be ridiculous think naka is cheating the guy has been a top player for a while unfortunately because of this terrible performance ppl like you will forget abt it
@chess24com Seems the tournament organizers have done a good job with the anticheating measures. Its unbelievable how this moron could break the 2800 in classical chess. All he did was play blitz which in theory weakens his classical chess skills. But no, in his case he kept getting stronger
🇺🇸 Hikaru Nakamura: “Why am I even here?”
After another six-hour battle at the 2026 Candidates, Nakamura admitted he felt lost out of the opening against Andrey Esipenko, believing he might already be worse by move 15 or 16.
He was fortunate to escape with a draw after Esipenko faltered in time trouble.
Nakamura also dismissed stamina concerns, calling it one of his strengths after back-to-back marathon games.
But the most revealing moment came when he admitted that during these long classical battles, he caught himself thinking he could be at home reviewing games, and “much happier.”
The order of opponents which will be difficult for Gukesh ranked from most to least
1) Anish
2) Hikaru
3) Fabi
4) Sindarov
5) Pragg
6) Wei Yi
7) Esipenko
8) Bluebaum
@hypemik22@kaushik0803 But, I have a feeling not at this sort of time. I doubt he would even go as far as KID, while Sindarov/Pragg will definitely play it.
@hypemik22@kaushik0803 Yes, Fabi vs Hikaru is a definite bad match-up for Fabi. I'll just note one thing. I believe two wins were in Fried Liver Attack games, and again Nakamura won't do that sort of thing here.
Fabi because his basic level is highest by far. He played a match on even terms with Magnus. Nobody else in this field would be able to achieve that (or at least shown any signs of this).
He's won candidates before. His rating is that high with active play, so I know it's not fake. His preparation and motivation are excellent.
There's literally not a single red flag about him. That's true of Sindarov (my second option), but Fabi has huge green flags while Sindarov has small ones.
Anish, Wei Yi, Bluebaum all could do it, they have green and red flags both. Esipenko is unlikely but possible. Hikaru I've already commented on. Pragg's rating is nose-diving, I'm not sure how much stamina he recovered while also prepping, his mindset is confused (just see his coaches recent interviews), opponents are heavily prepared against him and won't take much risk. Considering all of that and how his rating is 2740 on nosedive despite playing in inflated elite rating bubble, I'm just very skeptical he can be at the level needed to win this.
It's not knowable, but I'm just basing it off, he's older and complaining about it, he's playing a lot less serious classical than ever so logically I don't see how he could be better than the previous versions of himself.
But anyway, tomorrow the action kicks off and we'll see if I'm right.
