Ds1 fans: NGL, the first half of the game was great. I didnt care for the last half. Ds3 fans: It is a boss run game, but thats why i love it ER fans: NGL, they coded Malenia to cheat and PCR was just insanity Ds2 fans: the game is perfect in every way, skill issue. time issue.

@xelliepurr @HuntressSellia I mean it still applies, if you rush in like in the quoted clip from ds3 then you will be in a lot of pain. I mean it's a lot of pain either way but it's tractable if you take your time and keep an eye on what's aggroed and learn the aggro thresholds

@hyperangst @HuntressSellia Ik they already replied saying the same thing but Iron Keep is deadass a place where this just doesn't apply because the aggro range on the knights is just the entire level

This is every Dark Souls to me after Elden Ring, Iron Keep has killed me almost a dozen times while I have yet to die to a boss in DS2 ever

@hyperangst @HuntressSellia Ok but how didn't they have this issue in stormveil castle? Sure, ashes of war may get you past the courtyard, but those are not available in the internal rooms.

@HuntressSellia Oh I did misread you, for some reason my brain translated Iron Keep into Stormveil Castle lol. Yeah that bit is legitimately brutal. What I said still applies but it's def an odd case bc the aggro for those particular enemies is unintuitive and deviates from how it normally works

@hyperangst Iron Keep is an anomaly due to the telepathic aggro connection the Alonne knights have, even trying to split them up I would just end up underestimating how many of them there were since I didn't know how many there were beforehand.

@GraftSouls The fun in souls levels consists more in slow, careful exploration and observation of the environment for threats and secrets, less in them existing merely as an appetizer for the area boss. ganks happen but they are usually a sign that you should have done something differently
