@TheGreatLander Then, some newspaper looks at the police reports and says this can't be true because they only filed 15 reports per month. Not realizing that there is no point in filing for anything under an arbitrary dollar amount or if they have no concrete suspects.

@RBPundit Wondering if there is a La Raza connection? People have very strange political obsessions prompted by unexpected ideological mixtures.

@RobProvince Paid $2 even for a pound of butter a couple weeks ago. $2.09 dozen eggs on Saturday. Mayo was $4.29 in a squeeze bottle, cheaper in a regular jar. Ground beef was $9/lb for grass fed & finished. Shop around.

@bendreyfuss It's not like other types of factories don't use massive power and lots of water for cooling. Look up forging plants and especially aluminum processing.

@david_shane @varadmehta Sometimes you can use the kittens as bait to catch the mom. Put them in a closed carrier at the end of a covered live trap so the only way the mother can get to them is through the trap.

I am tired of new young Bond. Let’s do old Bond. Like, real old. 87. Can’t find his spy watch. Accidentally hits the eject button on his car seat. Puts 6 rounds through his front door when the mailman comes. Absolutely unpredictable and thereby unstoppable.

Casting director Nina Gold says the next James Bond actor must “ooze sex appeal.” She is also looking for someone “young enough to play him in 3, 4 or more pictures.” (Source: Deadline)

@EWErickson Right now, LLMs are very elaborate database front ends. They can be good at finding the information in the data they possess, but fail when trying to make any real intelligent use of it.

I was querying an AI model this evening, and it said I needed proof of Charlie Kirk's assassination and the latest assassination attempt on Donald Trump. Asking it questions, I realized the model was not biased against the truth; it just simply had no data in the LLM. I continue to doubt AI is going to displace as many people as some claim. I gave it links and suddenly it is as if it never knew it did not know these things.

@varadmehta Lots of custom builders. Bad time to be buying, though with insane RAM prices and tough GPU prices. If you’ve got a Microcenter near you they have some decent deals.

That was back in the day when I still was a PC gamer. Which I am again these days after an interval of nearly 20 years where I was strictly on consoles. Are custom gaming rigs even a thing these days? I mean, besides for the esports folks? Heck, are PCs even a thing now?

After 25 and a half years, I finally got rid of the computer I bought when I started my PhD program. Pentium III 733Mhz. Now that's some real computing power. I'll miss the screech the floppy disk drive made every time it booted up. Also had a Zip Drive. Remember those?
