While you all are fighting, the @256FOUNDATION has been quietly building.
Pesenting:
The world first mixed-hashboard (S19j + S19k) Bitcoin miner.
Possibilities: endless. 🧵

English

@karpuzmining @skot9000 Exactly this. Someone shouldn’t be forced to choose an inferior product if they want to support open source. They also shouldn’t be shamed for choosing a closed source miner if the $/th or design better fits them, all that does is discourage adoption.
English

You’re the leader of the open source brigade. Hopefully you’re encouraging your guys to work on some higher-hashrate devices/other new devices to get people excited about.
Development efforts seem to have shifted towards things like Mujina which I think is incredibly important for new Bitcoin mining applications, but it feels like dev on the entry-level miner side has stagnated a bit. That’s just from my vantage point, since I’m not privy to things in the works. I hope I’m wrong.
You care a lot about open source and Bitcoin as a whole and I applaud that, but most of the guys buying devices from Solo Satoshi simply don’t share the same passion or concern. The things they sell will have to be as good or better than all the Chinese stuff hitting the market or they’ll start to sell less of it. That’s not the way I want it to be or something I’m celebrating, it’s just an objective look at the way it is.
English

The reality is most of the home mining community doesn’t care about open source. They don’t know what a GitHub repo is let alone know how to inspect, fork, or mod one.
The majority doesn’t care about dismantling proprietary mining or central banking cartels, they just want to hit a Bitcoin jackpot and convert it to fiat dollars. They want the highest reliable hashrate for the lowest prices.
So while many would love to believe that open source was the driving force behind the popularity of Axe devices, it’s far more likely because they were one of the few affordable pathways into mining. That’s all changing, and it’s changing fast.
With @hammerminer announcing new products every few weeks, and @canaanio rumored to announce a new generation of Avalon home miners, only time will tell if ideology alone is enough to hold on to market share.

@Real_PizzAndy @SatStackingPleb Nice!! will print one up soon as you release files.
English

I made an update to @SatStackingPleb's Stealth Miner enclosure. A few tweaks to make still, but time to let the world know. Public files to follow shortly.
This one made with an S19 95T board and Arctic fans can be yours for 775k sats. Planning another build with white fans that will be available soon as well.
A portion of StealthMinerV2 proceeds will go to SSP to thank him for all his hard work with single hashboard platforms.
Improvements:
-10% less plastic
-Eliminates large flat side panels, substantially reducing warping when printing with non-composite filaments
-More indexing features for easier assembly
-Integrated bottom handles for easier lifting from a table
-Highly customizable mounting system for internal peripherals, RPis, buck converters, hotspot, wifi adapter, etc.
-Updated styling, stealth-style badging
-Exterior ridges better conceal seams when the enclosure segments must be split for smaller printers
-Tongue-and-groove joints, enclosure feels like one solid piece
Same performance!

@WilsonMining The excitement in hydro begins when a pump grenades or a line decides to identify as an overcooked hotdog for no reason.

@karpuzmining Grid-tied has tons of restrictions, all UL listed, new panels only, permitting, inspections, etc. Grid-tied for mining only makes sense if your goal is 24/7 mining. Sun-up mining diy used panel battery-less or battery minimal for clouds is most cost effective.
English

@hyperhashtech I have a moral objection to letting other men build things for me, so DIY is the way everything gets done around here. I always thought grid-tied was less expensive?
English

How many of you are actually mining with solar?
I love the idea of running a bunch of miners in the garage using the power of the sun. The issue is that solar is still far too expensive, which is why panels on rooftops are still a rare sight even here in the Sunshine State.
So my real question is, how are miners doing this in a way that makes sense? Does it ever make sense, or are we just not there yet in terms of tech?

I'll have wall-mounts and other accessories available for these units in the near future. I'll also be doing a set-up video demonstrating the ease of assembly.
Happy to answer questions.

These are pretty cool. Planning on doing a vertically-oriented remix. Shutout to @NakamotoMining for opening this one up.
English

@TronMonGone I noticed that. Definitely a good idea, especially will help if you want to ship one for example, better chance of it actually making it in one piece.
English

@hyperhashtech Note, I've decided to use traditional fasteners in some areas instead of cheeky notched/sliding fastening as it's more robust and allows for better tolerances when printing with different materials.
English

@WilsonMining bought a miner off the marketplace this morning, it’s been “sleeping” since purchase. Besides setting pool what needs done?
English

@TronMonGone @synthex21 @AGariaparra @NakamotoMining @SatStackingPleb I’ll give it a shot, the shrinkage on asa was killer and a little better abs but if petg is even less that will be great.
English

@hyperhashtech @synthex21 @AGariaparra @NakamotoMining @SatStackingPleb Oof, I almost stopped printing ABS due to shrinkage. PETG seems to work best for medium-large prints for me (Bambu P1S).
English

@TronMonGone @synthex21 @AGariaparra @NakamotoMining @SatStackingPleb ASA and ABS. More ABS lately due to less shrinkage.
English

@hyperhashtech @synthex21 @AGariaparra @NakamotoMining What are you using? @SatStackingPleb got me on PETG-CF - amazing material.
English

@TronMonGone @synthex21 @AGariaparra @NakamotoMining Sounds good. Just bought some more filament as I have a feeling I’m going to be printing a few of these lol.
English

@hyperhashtech @synthex21 @AGariaparra @NakamotoMining Just tweaking some tolerances. Might me another couple days.
