A point of correction my good man: Lincoln did not create the two part system, fractures started to appear during Washington’s presidency and within his own cabinet owing to polarizing concerns related to the federal government’s purview and power. Hamilton and Adams were federalists while Jefferson and company were anti-federalists. Jefferson led the formation of the Democratic Republican Party - against the vision Washington had for the country. By contrast, many decades later, with the rise and fall of a handful of iterations of political parties, Lincoln entered the scene and was a member of the Republican Party, a party formed by former Whig party members and Abolitionists. Nearing the end of the civil War, Lincoln was the boldest voice for reconciliation between North and South and party differences. Indeed, even within his own party he skillfully navigated and rallied extreme and adversarial positions.

They did, actually. They gave us the ability of impeachment The problem is, is that Abraham Lincoln created the party system. Which George Washington predicted at the founding of the nation. If it was ever created, it would destroy it. It's not that the Founders didn't give us a way out. They did. We just destroyed the way out.

So here’s the dilemma. Trumpism is over. But we are stuck with it for 3 more years. The founders left us no practical way out.

“From Cave to Canvas” 🖐️ the hand evolves from primal mark to metropolitan myth. Every line a century, every crease a destiny. The first hand spoke in ash and shadow; this one speaks in towers and streets. Civilizations rise in its palm fate etched where past and future meet.
