Your argument makes sense. But memes are literally in their first bear market. Pepe was launched 2023(bear market) after nfts were dead. So tokenized memes in that sense have only been around for 3 years. Yes, things have gotten extremely bad because the Pump machine gets paid by having 30k coins launched a day. But people still like memes. Memes were here longgg before NFTs were a thing. I think this is the part people miss when contextualizing the NFT vs Memecoin argument. Memes have always been here. NFTs came specifically from crypto. Now, currently we have much fewer participants in memes because most people get rinsed of their entire port in about 2 minutes trading on Pump or Bonk. Cause they don't know the game. But just like 2023, a new competitor will get big, attract attention from not just CT but normies too, and the machine will churn back up.
