The two-days training programme convened 33 senior officials from 14 NCAP cities of Uttar Pradesh, @nagarnigamvns, @uppwdofficial, District Food and Civil Supplies Department, District Industries Center, and officials of regional offices of @uppcbofficial. iFOREST, in collaboration with the Directorate of Boilers, Uttar Pradesh, and the @uppcbofficial organised a one-day Industry Awareness Workshop on Boilers in #Varanasi. The workshop brought together industrial experts from various plants across Varanasi and the surrounding regions. The aim of the workshop was to raise awareness among Varanasi's industrial units about greening boilers, reducing emissions, and complying with existing environmental policies and regulatory requirements. 💡With @boell_India we released our latest report, "Bridging the Gap: Skilling, Policy Incentives, and Entrepreneurial Pathways for Empowering Women in Green Transitions." Insights from the new report highlight that women risk being left out of the emerging green economy unless structural gaps in skills, jobs, enterprise, and the broader ecosystem are addressed. India's factories & buildings run on expensive, outdated heating systems but there is a smarter solution most people haven't heard of: Heat Pumps Today, iFOREST convened a National Consultation Workshop on Heat Pump Adoption in India bringing together policymakers, industry, financiers & experts to ask: why aren't we scaling this faster? The session-wise discussions revealed: 1️⃣ India's heat pump market remains massively underleveraged with 45% of industrial thermal demand addressable today, yet penetration below 4%, the opportunity is hiding in plain sight. 2️⃣ The techno-economic and climate benefits of heat pump technology are already proven, but an import-dependence of component supply chain remains the single biggest barrier to adoption. 3️⃣ While residential and commercial heat pump space and water heating applications are already proven, the focus must now shift to industrial heat recovery with policy and standards urgently needing to catch up. 4️⃣ Without a credible certification framework for heat pump technology and de-risked financing, even the most viable technology like this cannot scale. ☀️Accelerating Rooftop Solar Adoption in Assam iFOREST, in collaboration with local stakeholders, conducted extensive awareness campaigns across the CAP cities of #Dibrugarh, #Guwahati, and #Barpeta to promote the adoption of rooftop solar under the PM Surya Ghar: Muft Bijli Yojana (PMSGMBY). The campaign aimed to help citizens: ➡️Understand the benefits of rooftop solar, including reduced electricity bills and access to government subsidies ➡️Contribute to a cleaner and more sustainable energy future ➡️Simplify the application process for rooftop solar installation ➡️Get their common queries related to installation addressed directly Following the awareness drives led by Team iFOREST, there has been a noticeable increase in both applications and rooftop solar installations in these cities.
