Hot take: ChatGPT isn’t making students dumber. The assignments are. AI didn’t kill critical thinking, it exposed how little we're asking for. The best educators aren’t policing prompts; they’re redesigning work so AI is a collaborator, not a shortcut. It’s not about less work.

They say ChatGPT makes students dumber. I say: good. Maybe now we’ll stop assigning work that never required real thinking. AI isn’t lowering the bar, it’s exposing how low it already was. The best educators aren’t banning AI. They’re redesigning learning to expect more.
