For years, PSG’s failures in Europe were blamed on the “low level” of French football. The moment they won it, the same lack of competition suddenly became an advantage. It give them the freedom to focus on Europe. When English clubs dominated, it was proof their league is miles ahead of every other in Europe. The second they struggle, now the league is too competitive.

@chinoesinaulo People outside the Premier League found it boring at the time. It was known for physicality and long balls, definitely not for technical strengths. It only changed with influences like Wenger and that was mostly limited to the big teams.
