We don't know for a fact that it won't host international matches in the future. Those are just assumptions you're creating in your head. Plus it's a multi-sport facility. Cricket, rugby, tennis, and other sports will all be played there. Even iconic cricket grounds in India were empty during the West Indies tour. We aren't building just for crowds but for heritage also. It's about having something of our own, not relying on leased grounds.

You think I don't know all that? You think I just come out here and rant without doing my research? Did you see the state of the Nassau County ground in New York when it hosted the 2024 T20 WC? Or the venues for the Champions Trophy in Pakistan? Do you honestly think ZC, the ICC, and the government aren't aware of these concerns? The World Cup is in October next year. Let’s wait and see how the development unfolds. You're free to criticize if the project turns out to be a flop, until then sit back and relax

@weymarplanet FYI that ground is not going to host an international matches in the near future. There is need to build hotels and medical facilities. Government has engaged a South African private contractor to find possible Investor as the area is now a dedicated SEZ.

For those CONFUSED… These FARMS were NEVER meant to be taken, it was a mistake that’s being rectified… They were not acquired through COLONISATION, they were PRIVATE INVESTMENTS made after INDEPENDENCE… We know that some will run with the false narratives that land reform is being REVERSED, that’s not true…

Well done @CityofBulawayo for turning out in force to support the @SablesRugbyZW .
However I agree with many observers that Hartsfield needs serious renovations to be carried out if it is to be a fit venue for internationals going forward.
I invite the business and rugby community to enter into a dialogue with BCC to see how this can be done.

The turnout at Hartsfield was actually great! I took this video just as the second half started. There were still people coming in, by the time the game ended, lots of pockets of space had been occupied. Bulawayo; you did incredibly well, and I say we need more games there!!
