@DavidPr11700445 Weird how people with jobs didn’t have all these issues before TikTok and other platforms. Weird how people would just hop on in their spare time and not care what happened, they’d game and lose and HAVE FUN doing it. They wouldn’t bitch about sweats either. Weird.

@iamExpel Not strictly true, casuals aren't chasing wins or dopamine. They are after a little bit of fun. Things might improve with solo's but with quads they found it stressy, ULTRA sweaty and competitive and just no fun. People with jobs just want to drop in at night w/friends & chill

Casuals needs to come to Black Ops Royale ASAP Most of the issues people have with the mode is that they’re basically playing wrong, and casuals would give the chance for those players to LEARN and ENJOY the mode Most upset players: ▪️ Don’t know how to use wingsuit ▪️ Don’t know how to use grapples ▪️ Not using Activities for loot ▪️ No chance to learn the map ▪️ Still thinks attachments need to be personalized, when they make no difference ▪️ Think every player that kills them is a sweat ▪️ Hate fighting full teams alone ▪️ WANT THEIR OWN CAMOS ON GUNS I spectated some games to see the reality of what’s going on; it became obvious after watching EVERY PLAYER just grapple the ground in front of them that it was a lack of understanding. Now that solos is coming, while I hate to be that guy, I think Casuals is a necessity if they want this mode to have a fighting chance. @RavenSoftware / @CallofDutyCM

@itsMEZZANINE @TheGhostOfHope Also, my guess is that you’re just watching negative people. So you’ve found “truth” in people just being a dick all the time, which isn’t needed.

@itsMEZZANINE @TheGhostOfHope If you don’t mind, please walk me through what truths I’m tip toeing around? I’m pretty blunt in my content, so it could just be that the truth you’re thinking about isn’t real. 🤷🏼‍♂️

@Rainex116 Using steam numbers is not a smart thing to do. Activision has repeatedly said they’re off the wall. The console numbers boost the total player count from 10-30x that at any given moment.

@iamExpel Back 5 yrs ago, Warzone had so many pools of diverse lvl of players thus I can play and get like 5-10 kills. Today bc we shrunk that pool from 470k to <50k, only the hard core sweats are left. I loved reg. WZ back in the days. Today its hard to land without getting blazed.

@sel_h COD is a competitive shooter, but due to its simple mechanics, it appeals to the casual audience. So, you’re right and wrong.

@iamExpel Casual is the CORE of all gaming experience. You need to understand that, people want to play for fun, not to compete

@TeroWasHere Casuals is killing the game. But if people are going to give the new mode a chance, Casuals is the only way to make that happen for a large portion of the player base.

@Victorzx900 @TheGhostOfHope Brother, I can tell you first hand the numbers on steam are laughably wrong. The player count is basically the same as what we saw at the end of BO6 Warzone on steam, but I’ve been told it’s much higher in reality than it was then overall.

@iamExpel @TheGhostOfHope The weird part is he’s calling Black Ops Royal “Warzone” when they are two completely different things lol. Black ops Royal just came out and is popping, while Warzone is 6 years old and a low player count.

Genuinely what do people not like about Avalon and black ops royale? This is the most fun I’ve had playing COD in a very long time and I can only see it getting better with updates.

They’re making 20 minute videos that no one watches more than 24h later. I’m making hour long videos people watch on their TVs for months. Truth be told, almost no one that makes Warzone content does anything out of the norm or focuses on evergreen content, though I’ve repeatedly told them to. Also, if you’re wondering, I’m not view botting — if I was, the videos wouldn’t make anything because those views usually come from India / Mexico where the RPMs are dogshit. I think it’s insane that people don’t know how to properly monetize content in 2026, and most are pretty lazy or put a huge focus on streaming instead, when they often hurts you long term in the gaming space. Proof below of the exact video you’re talking about. You can see what I’m talking about.

@iamExpel I’m sorry for my ignorance but just truly genuine question…. What’s the difference between a sweat learning the mode and a casual learning the mode if both never played OG BO. They’re at the same playing field no? So why did I learn all those things in 5 minutes? But they can’t?

I want to be clear, I’m someone very against the idea of casual modes. It promotes an unhealthy mental experience for a mode that is built around PVP in its purest form. It causes a divide between good and bad players, making them literally hate everything about the other. We’re to the point in gaming where we have to push dopamine constantly, and give the absolute easiest opportunity for people to win a match. I wish Casuals modes wouldn’t have made their way into the game, but they’re a net positive for the short term. Though, long term, it’ll likely ruin COD altogether. With that said, removing Casual BR wasn’t a good move (for more than 24h) when introducing Black Ops Royale. There should have been a Casual experience from the start since the mode can be inherently more fun for better players with better dexterity. Growing up, I played little and tried to learn along the way. Truth is, people don’t work like that. They’ll tell you they don’t have time, but it’s more about not wanting to learn. The same people who “don’t have time” are scrolling constantly on social media — hence why they’re yapping about it in the first place. TL;DR I don’t like the effects of casuals on the player base. It’s a short term positive, but long term super negative. They shouldn’t have ripped the mode away, and should have had a new Casual BOR experience alongside the new modes launch.

I’m with you but they can learn and that’s through playing or watching content creators play through YouTube/Streaming. This was no different than folks buy strategy guides back in the day. But we keep segmenting the player base so much that it’s just going to make everyone’s experience miserable. Which it already does. Winning feels meaningless now.
