Last year, the city of Austin turned off their Flock cameras as the result of a targeted misinformation campaign. This weekend, for nearly 24 hours, three suspects drove around Austin in stolen vehicles, undetected, conducting a shooting spree at 12 separate locations. They shot multiple people, houses, apartment buildings, businesses, and fire stations. They committed multiple robberies and car thefts during the spree. Despite a full manhunt involving 200 officers, with helicopter and K9 support, they weren't able to locate the suspects, and the spree continued. Luckily, the suspects drove into the Flock-supported city of Manor, TX. Manor is a small city with ~20k residents, and a fraction of Austin's budget. What they do have is modern technology and the ability not to fall victim to misinformation campaigns. After the suspects drove into Manor to continue their shooting spree, Manor PD located them almost immediately. The residents of Manor stayed safe. This is a tale of two cities. I love Austin. I have plenty of friends who live there. I myself almost moved there years ago. I'm glad that the shooting spree is over, but I just wish it never happened.

@babadookspinoza These commonly get snatched out peoples hands, lack impact as a standard police batons and can get you hit with charges if you misuse it. I seen security gaurds get fired and charged for pullibg batons out when not needed. You arent breaking anyones legs specially w no training.

FYI: collapsible batons are much cheaper than guns, don’t need licensure and are a lot less of an escalation simply to draw but are scary enough to deter and extend your reach by >1’ if not. I got my Smith & Wesson for $50. Break their legs and run! (Check legality in your area.)

I feel terrible for some of these Uber drivers. This is why you can't get an Uber in hood. You get people that act like this and put this Uber driver though all this stress and drama. Credit to this Uber driver for not backing down. No surprise that immediately the threat of harm or car jacking comes into play. But the Uber driver was sharp enough to remind him that all of his personal information has already been shared with Uber when he opened his account. Getting that info to the police would be a snap. Sure mad the thug think twice about doing anything.

@wnypoker I thought I was the only one. I have this one i can fit but its more so i can be covered legally for open carry in my car. This one has a big cut out but not my ideal holster for LTC or until i get a hush puppy or more concealable can.

ALERT: Good Samaritan helps a cop subdue a suspect after a fistfight broke out between the cop and a man in Madison, Tennessee. Police received multiple calls about a suspect walking in traffic, lying down in the road, and even punching a car driving past. Officer Rodion Peters arrived and tried to keep the suspect from entering the roadway again before trying to detain him. The suspect then started throwing punches, hitting Peters in the head, before Peters could grapple him to the ground. A good Samaritan then came over and helped Peters hold the man down until other officers arrived and detained the man. The suspect is charged with assaulting an officer and disorderly conduct.
