For me, any person who places religion, religious identity, or political party above the nation immediately comes across as untrustworthy. Because what truly binds us isn’t the shared emotion of religion or political loyalty, it’s our shared identity as citizens of the same nation. Patriotism must come before religious or political affiliation. Without loyalty to the nation first, everything else stands on shaky ground.

I’m a Muslim too, and no I don’t feel targeted sitting in some imaginary purge. What I do see is the same echo chamber crying victim every time its narrative gets exposed and there is no way to escape. You don’t speak for all of us.
