🗞️ PRESS RELEASE The Federal Government, through the National Sports Commission, has approved a major nationwide sports infrastructure revamp aimed at repositioning Nigerian sports and restoring key facilities to international standards. The projects include the complete rehabilitation and upgrade of the Moshood Abiola National Stadium, Abuja, upgrades to tracks, floodlights, media and athlete facilities, construction of a High Performance Centre, anti-doping laboratory, training pitches, redevelopment and development of the 200 room athletes’ hostel into a proper hotel, VAR installation, upgrades to medical facilities including new medical equipments, development of a sports center to provide additional offices and spaces for all the sports federations etc and rehabilitation of critical sports infrastructure across the country. The initiative also extends to direct support for states hosting future National Sports Festivals and development of other elite sports infrastructure across the country, the construction of mini sports centres nationwide, and the establishment of sports facilities across some tertiary institutions in furtherance of the of development of sports centres of excellence across tertiary institutions as part of efforts to strengthen grassroots and school sports development. I am currently working on establishing a football club as a consultant, and the amazing about the club we are setting up is the ownership structure. A club that will be partially owned by the people in the community, government and investors from any part of the World including Nigeria as well. The recent success of @IkoroduCityFC, @SportingLagos and @InterLagosFC is a testament that private clubs can actually strive and survive in the harsh Football system in Nigeria. The Football ecosystem is getting bigger with success of the three Lagos-based teams. Many private investors are coming into Nigeria Football as we speak now with great innovation and realistic targets putting into consideration the Nigerian factor. In a couple of years and with the available information at my disposal, Lagos can be the London 🇬🇧 of the Premier League in England where most NPFL clubs will come from Lagos.

This coaching license issue will be our greatest undoing if not approached with proper planning. How many coaches in the NPFL has CAF A or Pro ?

At @IkoroduCityFC we have have a dynamic approach to game and our pattern is unique. I said it few weeks a goal when @Hakeem_Onitolo story was trending that our team isn't built on No 9 to get goals. The team system is built on everyone rather than relying on a No 9 to score goals. All the players in the team are aware of this fact and they take responsibilities when it comes to scoring goals. I'm glad that you spot that out too. That means you KNOW football 🫱🏻‍🫲🏼🫱🏻‍🫲🏼🫱🏻‍🫲🏼
