To answer some angry questions: yes I do have principles, and one of them is that it's a very bad idea to put serious opinions on Twitter. So you may as well stop haranguing me for them. All I'm saying is: there is no need to bully a sweet, jolly quizzer for playing a TV quiz.

@gvrlee @marcmaron Probably more likely code switching. If the intruder was inexperienced then an unexpected request like that might have thrown him off and put the situation in to a different context. There’s cases where code switching has stopped armed robberies.

@marcmaron Let me get this straight. An intruder breaks in and when he confronts Mr. Pelosi, Mr. Pelosi tells him he needs to use the bathroom and the intruder allows him to do so. Whew, a very polite intruder if I must say.
