I haven't seen anyone talk about this yet, but as of roughly 2 days ago, diyhrt.cafe has been taken down due to a UK article highlighting it with reports consequently increasing it's not over yet, but this sets an incredibly awful precedent, it's scary

my friend, Ukrainian trans*woman, who I was helping for the last two years, was press ganged into Ukrainian military, thrown into jail then forest training camp and then died from pneumonia 3 days ago I can't neither with that fckn war nor with all those transphobes, urghhhhh

@virrals It's up for them to choose an alternative to their deadname which sounds familiar. But I don't get the logic anyway. And I agree with this take.

This is purely anecdotal but it seems like a lot of trans people pick a feminised/masculinised version of their deadname because they think it will be easier for loved ones to get used to, but i’ve found that the opposite is true. A brand new name is easier for people to learn.

saw a bunch of extended family at a funeral today for the first time since i transitioned and everyone was very nice to me. i was nervous but it went okay!! 🖤
