I used to love it when friends' parents would give me a lift home after cubs and I could sit in the luggage area of an estate car. Ultimate joy. It's a real shame that kids today won't ever get that experience.
@YcmiYcmiu@Helen_Whately I have had experience of people with adhd in voluntary work and I have experienced the jobcentre. It’s only an opinion but it is highly likely. I don’t disagree with the idea of encouragement and support but subjecting people to the same requirements is full of risks.
First Labour MP to put his head above the parapet: Anxiety and ADHD aren't reasons not to work.
Work is a better answer than benefits - for the claimants as well as the taxpayer.
After saying this for 2 years, I'm glad 1 Labour MP is now showing some sense.
Our welfare state should be a safety net, not an easy payday.
People are tired of funding a system that pays out to those who could work but don’t.
Soon we'll know whether Burnham has the courage to do what Starmer never would: cut the welfare bill.
I write in the @TheSun ✍️
"There are no poor pensioners."
📞 Gladys from Cheshire says there are enough safety nets in place for retired people, and they should stop "bellyaching" about pensions and winter fuel.

Pet Shop Boys are an incredible covers band. They should've done much more at their peak. Always On My Mind is a blinder of a single, as is Where The Streets Have No Name. Go West is exceptional, too.
Should the government provide free meals for struggling families?
Andy Burnham is being urged to announce a National Food Service if he becomes Prime Minister, with state-owned restaurants cooking free meals for anyone who needs them.
What do you make of that?
@AdamJMatlock I am not defending their comment but cheating was always going to turn people against the usa team. Your you are already out point does not really work considering the quality of the German teams over the years and the quality of the German league.
Following England's win, are you starting to believe?
England are through to the quarter finals after a dramatic 3-2 victory over Mexico.
There were two goals in under two minutes, and Jude Bellingham was the hero.
Do you think England can now go all the way?
@JeremyVineOn5 No, not only will Norway be tough they will need to beat Argentina then France or Spain to win it. I will believe if they are winning by three with two minutes to go in the final.
@KEdge23 If someone has 3 cakes and I get 1 that unfairness can be undone by me getting another cake. What does taking away money from kids funded by my taxes do for me?
My kid is way too old for this, and I’m honestly fed up. Every single morning I walk into his room and it’s the same situation, soaked sheets, mattress, everything. I can’t even start my day normally because I already know I’ve got another load of laundry waiting.
I’ve tried everything. Cutting off drinks early, making him use the bathroom before bed, even waking him up in the middle of the night. Nothing sticks. And he just shrugs it off like it’s no big deal, while I’m the one dealing with it over and over again.
At this point, I’m not asking anymore, I’m telling him. We’re putting waterproof covers on everything, and if it keeps happening, I’m not dropping everything every morning to deal with it right away.
I know it might sound harsh, but I’m tired of waking up to the same thing every day and acting like it’s normal when it’s been going on for way too long.
A biopic has zero credibility if it doesn't show the character traits that the bedwetting superfans would prefer to overlook. And that includes noncing.
@KEdge23 I am sure unemployed are waiting in excitement for the news their dole will be doubled. Well you do say more benefits. Never let facts get in the way of an agenda eh?
Andy Burnham is already planning tax rises on the British people.
Tax.
Tax.
Tax.
Tax.
Tax.
It’s always higher taxes under Labour, to pay for more benefits.
