this was john, the child. not homelander. he wouldnt have experienced this kind of pain since the lab. his inner child, the abused, tortured little boy, crying+begging for butcher to stop is exactly how he needed to go out. he needed to experience WHAT he truly was before he died

@TheBoysOOCC how poetic it would be if he ends up powerless in a locked room just like wen he was a baby? it's definitely smth. he can't fathom how tiny he is stripped off dat suit, he dies psychologically first then we get butcher vs him at the end. all can happen in one well written finale

Honestly, I kinda understand why they used these posters for The Boys. These posters show what the ideal world looks like to both perspectives. Homelanders being a world where he is a God where his nonbelievers are punished, and Butcher in a world where Vought is completely destroyed Neither got what they wanted in the end

Would I still do this? Yes ultimately it'd still come down to Butcher vs Homelander as that's the very reason this show exists. But someone like Homelander shouldn't have had a death as easy as he had. You strip off the suit that means everything to him & get that head punchered.
