Serving officers work as CEOs. It is an administrative post unlike EC & CEC, which are constitutional posts. Does this journo thinks that state CEOs shouldn't continue in service after election! In this case WB CEO is the senior most IAS officer and currently an Adl CS.

Chief election officer of West Bengal appointed chief secretary for the state . FYI - EC. Special observer Dr Gupta has already been appointed as advisor to CM Adhikari. The 2 EC officials incharge to conduct a non partisan election in the state have now been inducted into the govt.

What TN has shown today, rest of India has been doing for decades. Hindu majority states of Rajasthan, Bihar, Assam, Maharashtra and even Manipur have had Muslim Chief Ministers. Hindu majority Andhra Pradesh, Goa and Kerala have given many Christian Chief ministers. TN is just a new entry to that old club.
But the real question worth probing is: how many Muslim majority or Christian majority states have given any Hindu Chief Minister? Zero.
Forget Chief Minister, how many Hindu MPs or MLAs have ever been elected from a Muslim majority or Christian majority lok sabha or vidhan sabha seats?? Next to Zero.

The new govt of Bengal is an illegitimate govt. It was not elected but rather “selected” by Modi-Tadipar who rigged the elections using their poodle Gyanesh Kumar & the ECI. This is a govt that doesn’t enjoy the people’s mandate. Narratives spun by Noida media & BJP don’t reflect the will of the people. There’s only 2 possibilities now: we either accept that India has ceased to be a democracy where free & fair elections are impossible. Or we reclaim our democracy from compromised institutions & assert that nothing is greater than the will of the people. The litmus test is 2029. Either we lose our democracy or we win back our country.
