Increasingly convinced if you do any modicum of due diligence in life you are in the top 5-10%.

@MikeFritzell @entertheunseen @grok Crows are definitely an exception as they alert others to predators. I’ve heard blue jays make warning calls when hawks are around.

It’s no coincidence birdsong regulates our nervous systems & lowers cortisol. Birdsong is how birds announce the area is free from predators. They don’t just signal safety to fellow birds, they signal to the entire ecosystem. The human brain attuned to this signal over centuries.
Earth@earthcurated

High-frequency patterns in birdsong can signal safety to the brain, helping the body unwind, ease stress, and restore mental clarity. At times, nothing soothes the mind more effectively than the quiet rhythms of the natural world.

For those who need non-market/news content --> the annual moose migration in Sweden is happening and you can watch it for free over the next few weeks It's a "slow TV" live stream with ~30 cameras Pretty neat stuff svtplay.se/video/ePvLm2E/…

@iamstacetheace Magnesium could help with this. Just do some research on the right kinds to use ex. theronate crosses the blood brain barrier but citrate or others target muscle/can better. Other than that hydration and electrolytes assuming it’s really just a headache.

Advice welcome - been struggling with multi day migraines and bumping up against my prescription medicine limits. My doctor suggests increased nervous system sensitivity is at least partly to blame. What has worked for y’all? I exercise, eat ok, practice meditation, etc. And have been much more stressed out in my life than currently.

@iamstacetheace the way out by alan gordon does a good job of explaining how to tone down nervous system sensitivity as it pertains to chronic issues like migraine

My man Axe has just committed to George Washington University, playing for Coach Matt Watts. Haven’t seen him this pumped for some time.

@fundiescapital Fair points...Think economically in a much different environment than 2022. Still had COVID $$ and lower income, which traditionally has been MUSA's bread and butter, is more squeezed than ever.

A tactical short of gas station operators looks interesting if gas continues rising. Tend to lose margin (cents per gallon) with sudden increases People will be spending less inside (which is where the high margins are)

Been thinking about this one: “The Arctic receives, strangely, the same amount of sunshine in a year as the tropics, but it comes all at once, and at a low angle of incidence—without critical vigor. The regular rhythm of light-fall in the tropics, that predictable daily infusion of energy, together with its high angle of incidence, are the primary reasons for the natural stability of these ecosystems.” - Arctic Dreams (great book highly recommend)

This month's episode is with a dear friend, Jonathan Tepper, founder and CIO of Prevatt Capital. We discuss his extraordinary childhood: - imagine your dad sends you, aged 8, into a heroin den to recruit junkies? his career, his investing philosophy and a life tinged with sadness. His book is out now and is a must-read. behindthebalancesheet.com/podcasts-singl…

Personal post: Jonathan’s memoir comes out next week. I won’t lie - it was not an enjoyable read at times, though it is remarkable. It is hard to read about the traumatic events someone you love went through. Consider picking up a copy to help support Jonathan’s labor of love, (and, I would argue, his catharsis) which has been 20 years in the making.

$MAT is proof a zebra does not change its stripes. Multiple instances to short at $21-22 handle in last few years. And numerous instances to short even before the divi cut in 2017. Love coming back to the one.

Rumors for years that $FANG would get bought out. Price action for past few months has suggested rumors are heating up again.
