My daughter went to see Siena Spiro at The Bowery in Manhattan a few days ago. On our way to the airport, she played a tune. A tune that was written in 1987 and released in 1992, 13 years before 20-year old Sienna was even born.
And she blew me away.

My View on the “Midwest” A Thread The original Northwest Territory was called “west” because it was indeed originally the western part of the US, and butted up against the Mississippi. West of that was French territory.

@BobCasey @ASU I humbly submit that the data you are referencing may be widely misunderstood. @AlbertBridgeCap has highlighted much of the issue. For example 4% of the CRSP database represents more than 1000 companies.

This dynamic holds in public markets just as it does in venture! Research by Hendrik Bessembinder @ASU shows that most U.S. stocks have generated lifetime returns lower than one-month T-bills. Roughly 4% of companies account for the entire net gain of the U.S. stock market since 1926, and an even smaller group (the “Mag Seven” type names) driving a disproportionate share of those returns.

Solid list, though I would swap out 15 for Love Buzz. I’d argue that 1 & 2 should be switched for one reason: in that generation of music there is no more haunting vocal performance than Where Did You Sleep Last Night. Nothing comes close. If you don’t get chills every time you listen to the last ~60 seconds of that song you are medically dead.
