@michaeljknowles Grifters on right and left both love to play this game where the right acts super offended at whatever that braindead alkie says, and the left acts like they watch his show. And both of them make a bunch of noise and nothing happens and you forget that Kimmel exists again

We don't really know if AI is conscious. We'll never know for sure.
But if we figure out the neuroscience of how human beings become conscious, we'll have a much better idea of how to make AI think more like we do.

@Noahpinion We do know. This is not conscious. It’s a GPU. It’s what you’re actually talking about when you say “AI”. It is not alive. It is a machine.

English

@AlexBores People can write whatever code they want, it’s called the first amendment, you hack.

"we need to ensure that key decisions about AI are made via democratic processes and with egalitarian principles, and not just made by AI labs."
I agree!
When is Greg Brockman giving $25 million to the pro-regulation side?
When is Chris Lehane spending half his time to establish safety?
Or are these principles just theater for your employees so they don't ask why your Global Affairs team and Leading the Future are trying to trample anyone who advocates for safety?

@MostlyMonkey We need a word for the opposite of “German three”. Dog whistle has too much political baggage.
English

@IanBaer I mean, that type of money is well above median MD at goldman. Probably closer to average for PMDs or whatever they call partners nowadays

@OpenAINewsroom You guys did steal a charity. I love the product you’ve got but it’s very obviously what you did.
English

We can't wait to make our case in court where both the truth and the law are on our side. This lawsuit has always been a baseless and jealous bid to derail a competitor. We'll also finally have the chance to question Mr. Musk under oath before a jury of Californians about this attempt to undermine our work to ensure that artificial general intelligence benefits all of humanity.
English

@Seanfrank They should tell the Chinese to pound sand, and Trump should announce further export controls. We should cripple their AI industry (and entire country) for what they’ve done to our oranges.
English

Meta does not operate in China.
what is the argument they should comply?
Eric Seufert@eric_seufert
China block’s Meta’s months-old acquisition of Manus. Unwinding the acquisition at this stage would be messy. And Meta has already substantially integrated Meta’s agents into its advertising manager suite.
English

@MostlyMonkey A teenager’s view of money. I was waiting for him to start talking about how he’s definitely going to get a job at Goldman.
English

@MartinShkreli Doctors would be happier if we deregulated them and allowed them to open private practices. Currently most of them are wage-slaves, sad!
English

@somewheresy The future is guys in Kenya getting paid $1.98/day to click thumbs up/down emojis all day so that the wealthiest people on the planet can tone police a math equation. Hell is empty, and all the devils are here.
English

$2/hr is 90th percentile wages for all Kenyan workers btw
Katie Miller@KatieMiller
OpenAI outsourced content moderation and toxicity-labeling work for ChatGPT to a firm in Kenya. Workers earned less than $2/hour take-home pay. This is the company that claims to be building AGI “for the benefit of all humanity.” The hypocrisy is unreal.

@gilbert_ty61348 @Polymarket Then they don’t need an id to ban AI for children. Are you aware of what KYC is?
English

@IanBaer @Polymarket Are you not aware we are all being watched and have been for a long time?
