Coppice I am keen to promote NCFed’s excellent work through the report of their recent Mapping project, which shows there is now plenty of evidence why coppice should be given a higher profile. I agree! All discussed in more detail in my blog. blogger.com/blog/post/edit…

@jemimajoanna @mattvella Really excellent article. Maintaining a level gaze is so important when writing this sort of piece. I think you were quite brave too.

I spent the day with Curtis Yarvin and the new new right at a garden party in the English countryside and wrote some words about it. My cover story for today’s FT Magazine, plotted with / edited by the brilliant @mattvella on.ft.com/3Ul74cg [GIFT LINK🎁]

This Friday (14/06) @ 15:00 GMT I will speak @ @IwmiWest in #Accra, #Ghana about our work in #Tamale over the last 2 years, and the direction(s) I think we should go in future - towards multi-risk assessment and better integrating science with community knowledge and preferences

This week’s Arab News 2 items lead, the Paris-Dakar rally & English Cricket’s handling of the racism scandal, in particular the proposed return of Colin Graves. Azeem Rafiq’s dignified approach shows English cricket up for the hypocrisy it is currently. ⁦@opposethe100

@blackgull Whilst there is no direct relationship between the number of NPs and the per capita funding, I understand where he is coming from. Personally, I wouldn’t support another National Park, but I would put investment into reinvigorating the RoW network, to benefit the many.

@blackgull Revisiting the Hobhouse report would be instructive. The recommendations have not been fully implementation, ie, Charnwood and Cambrian Mountains still remain on the slate. From memory also South Downs was one of those original recommendations.

Here are the new plants ready to replace the dead ones . Who would design a planter in the public realm where one half is under the canopy of the building ?. Muppets . We know that we need to create spaces that are climate change resilient and reducing watering is key .

Excellent meeting today with Louise Simpson CEO of @TheICF . Stimulating and inspiring conversation about collaboration, emerging leaders, social forestry, serving members and more. These sort of leader to leader bilaterals can be so valuable if the will is there.

Question for @whitmuir1 - I spotted this moth on the outside of my house near Penrith, Cumbria. Putting it on FB, I got the worrying comment it looks like an oak processionary moth. What do you think? And thanks to @CorrineGreen for advice on who to ask…

@BBC6Music The evening is the best listening on 6music, with so much new music. Samantha Moy is making the station unlistenable bit by bit. Having destroyed the daytime, she is moving onto the night. With the best 4 DJs now compressed into 14 hours a week, less than Craig Charles on his own
