Is there a sensible explanation why Italy's figures for The Virus are worse than any other country's? Over 1/4 of all the deaths in the whole world seem to be there. Yet Italy has less than 1% of the world's population. Ideas?

I often think about parallels between scientific programming and writing. A main() method should come first and give overview, just like an abstract. Functions, like paragraphs, should be about one thing. Modules are like chapters. Importing a library is like a citation...

A bug is an indication of a missing test. When a bug surfaces, your first response should be to create a failing test that will pass once the bug is fixed.

If you make your process more involved, more explicit, more fixed, more “correct”… … the more time you’ll spend serving the process, including reinforcing it, rather than getting value.
