Operating a no-hands rule - as suggested by some - would be impossible. Contact will always happen in a crowded area. Darren Cann’s suggestion of no attackers in the six-yard box until the ball is played makes sense, as Cann’s suggestions invariably do. A working party of Cann, a former player and manager could easily advise PGMO on getting to grips with the grapplers.

Angela Rayner has been moaning on a lefty podcast that her son ( 29, married, one child) can’t afford to buy a house as he’s on a “ very low income”. Life ain’t fair which is why the bank of mum of dad often helps out. If Ms Rayner hadn’t evaded £40K of stamp duty she could have sent her lad the £8K fine she faces from HMRC and he could have used it as a deposit. Even on minimum wage a 40 hour week would give her son £26.4K with a mortgage bank prepared to lend 4 times pay to low earners. Have been looking at prices in his mum’s constituency of Ashton and Lyne, for £120K you can buy a two up two down terraced home. Sure it’s a starter and doesn’t compare with his mum’s £800K place in Hove, but it’s a beginning Although he comes from a Socialist household the son might even be prepared to work extra hours and his wife may have to pitch in. Owning your own home is not a right. At the beginning it takes sacrifice. Having a famous mum, making good money, bleating in public about son’s finances is not helpful. Anybody would think she was running for high office!!!

@panks_79 It’s like Vertonghen when Sherwood came in after the Redknapp, AVB era came crashing down. He’s been left in a team full of dross and is sitting there because he doesn’t trust the rubbish in front of him. The owners have bred this attitude by letting down the fans & players.

I don’t care how good he is, how much he’s worth; if this is him disrespecting another manager, drop him. Take the armband away and bring in someone who will play for the manager and the shirt. Academy players will fight. And that’s what we need.
