They don't plan on claiming data shows John going up and down stairs. They don't plan on continuing the false claim of JM's phone deletions. Or of John walking 116 steps. They don't plan on presenting any witness who saw John in the house, despite promising the jury that. In other words, the tricks they used to dupe the mob...and the US Attorney...have all been abandoned at the moment of truth. The final retreat of the defense team is to trying to claim reasonable doubt based on the investigation. That's it. Few within the Pink Mob are capable of self reflection. However, maybe more are than we expected, given the scarce crowds showing up. But how does it feel to have been accusing innocent people of crimes for two years, all based on claims by the defendant and her media allies, only to have NONE of that presented at trial. Not one witness? Decent human beings...people with a conscience...would feel deeply troubled at this point. If you carried a "2:27" sign outside court, don't you feel she duped you?

I'm just gonna say it, as someone who feels incredibly invested in Karen Read being acquitted - I think not calling Proctor and the McAlberts is a HUGE mistake. Instead of showing the jury the absurdity of all these people not seeing or hearing a crash, not seeing a body on the front lawn, destroying their phones, offering bribes to Proctor, etc, we're spending entire days on boring, mundane shit like figuring who updated whose report first, and what clock was off by 30 seconds. It's fucking boring. They will NEVER convict Karen Read as long as these liars are forced to testify in front of a jury. You will NEVER convince 12 that these people aren't hiding something.
