@jamilesdodger@CliveSmith3000 While I stand firmly in the camp of securing top 5 above all else, it is a first team squad, not just 11 players, so rotation is not beyond question. That said, it wasn't the players so much as the attitude that fucked me off.
Hope Forest and west ham complain to the premier League about villa giving spurs an unfair advantage, you can't field a weakened team...Premier League Rule E.20 - Fielding a "weakened" team 🤬🤬
@LeeThomason11@Martinjoneplz3@VillaViews_ We have Burnley, who have shown on more than one occasion they can scalp a "bigger team" and Liverpool who are fighting the same battle we are for top 5. They have Fulham and Forest, 2 games they can win.
@LeeThomason11@Martinjoneplz3@VillaViews_ I did. Mostly because both teams have to play them and I certainly can't see us winning that tie currently, Bourmemouth neither, so those games cancel each other out.
@Dowlerzzz@villareport And you think the master plan is not to make sure we secure 5th but instead throw our full weight behind a tie we are currently 1 goal down in, off the back of 3 losses, against a team with their tails up?
@Dowlerzzz@villareport Bourmemouth, who are 6 points behind us and have by far an easier 3 in run, who haven't lost a game since Jan 3rd, and have scalped some big names already, will feel like it's more than achievable.
@Martinjoneplz3@VillaViews_ They might not need to, there's zero guarantee, based on the last few games, we get any points from our remaining 3 games. Bourmemouthonly need 6 and can catch us on GD, and they've an easier route with with Fulham and Forest.
@VillaViews_ There is no guarantee that we will beat Burnley and Bournemouth could win all their remaining games. It could be a huge strategic error on Emery’s part and he may live to regret his decision to field such a weakened side against Spurs
@Dowlerzzz@villareport Eggs-single basket. Anyway, you're entitled to your opinions, but when you have to draw down to insults it shows a lack of fundamental debate skill. Enjoy the rest of the season, it's going to be tough on the ticker.
@Dowlerzzz@villareport And sure, Forest now really do need to go for it tomorrow, at the detriment of a full squad on Thursday, but putting all the eggs into that one off basket does not a solid plan make. Secure top 5 above all else.
@Dowlerzzz@villareport And what has you so sure, over the last few games, that we are just going to bounce Burnley? And if we do, then go and get anything from the team directly competing for top 5 with us, and the team challenging for the title? With Bourmemouth 6pts off, with two easier games to win?
@Dowlerzzz@villareport If that's the plan, and I highly doubt it, it's a pretty shitty plan. Put ourselves in a position to lose top 5, just to potentially have a slightly better position in the 2nd leg of a game we are losing? Nonsense.
@villareport I think people aren't realising this was part of the plan, this performance was intentional. Spurs have gained ground on Forest, they now need to put out a stronger team vs Chelsea and will be more tired for Thursday. And we still have to play Burnley to get points for the CL.
@TotalVilla_ Need to fight on both fronts unfortunately or we risk coming away with nothing. It's an unpleasant situation to be in but the reality is that without Champions League football there will be forced sales of the biggest assets, which puts next year's drive in jeopardy.
A tough one for Unai Emery today.
If he rests players and we lose to Nottingham Forest, he’ll get criticised for not going full strength and building momentum.
If he goes full strength and a key player got injured, he’d get criticised for risking them unnecessarily 😅 #avfc
🚨 Everton are targeting a move for Aston Villa captain John McGinn this summer.
The Toffees are expected to strengthen in central midfield in the coming months as they look to add greater depth and quality to their squad.
David Moyes is also keen to bring in players who can make an instant impact and slot straight into the starting line-up.

@villareport The importance of Onana, in the absence of Kamara, is widely understated until neither are available. With respect to Bogarde, he is simply not up to task in that position. If Onana is out Thursday, the middle becomes a problem area. Again
@marshallavfc@VillaViews_ Yep, 64 points is the golden number. Will we need it? Likely no, given the fixtures around us. I'd speculate 4 points will be just about enough. But I'd rather get 2 wins and be set.
