Oh, how the mighty have fallen 😢 Shoprite - Dugbe, Ibadan. Normally, on a Saturday like this it will be bustling with activities. Both shoppers and picture takers. We lost Leventis, UTC, Kingsway and now seemingly ShopRite. @IbadanCityNg

I’m glad someone is also reasoning in this direction. Ibadan is a sane city with strong human capital but jobs don’t come by chance, they come through investment and deliberate positioning. The reality is clear when you compare states. Ogun State, has positioned itself as one of the top investment destinations after Lagos. The state hosts major multinationals like Nestlé, Procter & Gamble, and Dangote Cement, driven by a deliberate industrial and investor-friendly strategy . This has translated into real economic strength — Ogun generated about ₦194bn in IGR compared to Oyo’s lower figures, showing stronger internal economic activity and investor presence. Investment also directly creates jobs for example, planned industrial projects in Ogun are projected to create tens of thousands of jobs. Now the question is: how do you create jobs without aggressively marketing your state and attracting investors? Leadership is not just about infrastructure; it’s about, Investor engagement, policy alignment with the federal government and creating a business-friendly narrative If that intentionality is missing, opportunities will pass. The truth is we have the people in Oyo. We have the capacity. What we need is forward-looking leadership in 2027 that will align with the center, attract investors, and convert potential into real jobs. Because without investment there are no jobs. This is my 2 cents

@REWINDREElss @ntrntech @___ayomie ...come here is Power. That is just one out of other factors. The question we should be asking is why those companies I cited shut down operations. Even Beat Fm ran away from Ibadan when they saw that people only listen to Agidigbo- pun intended.

@REWINDREElss @ntrntech @___ayomie I did not run away, and I'm not discouraging industries and companies from coming to Ibadan. Ibadan did not lack industry, but it lost it. Oluyole Industrial Estate get why dem dey call am that name We had Leventis, NTC. One major factor that won't make companies..

@___ayomie More jobs can only be possible with the emergence of top companies. How many companies are ready to take the risk of establishing in Ibadan considering what Ibadan looks like currently? The only businesses that everyone does in Ibadan are supermarkets, restaurants, and...

I tried entering the bank and this man said, “Madam, you sure say door go open as you big so?” I ignored him and went in to do what took me there. I was done in a jiffy and saw him on the queue. I walked up to where he was, pretended I was heading to customer care, then stood beside him and said loud enough for everyone to hear, you body shamed me while we were outside and I ignored you cos I know you’re not exposed. He was smiling mischievously. Then i continued, look at you with a bald head, look at you a grown man with these ugly stretch marks on your arms and the body odour you carried into the bank. By this time everyone on the queue turned to see what was happening He was about talking and I raised my voice and interrupted him saying, I saw all these things on your body but did you see me insult you? Did you see me talk? Cos I know it is rude to see people and talk about a body I didn’t create. The security came in and I signaled them to let me be. I warned him sternly that when he sees strangers he should shut up if he doesn’t have any nice to say. How can a grown man be this mannerless? Walking up to a stranger and speaking like that? Who raised you? Some people were already murmuring “how you go see woman begin insult am”, “does he know her from anywhere that he’s talking?”, “him no even fear sef with this kind height wey the woman carry?” “She no even fat like that sef”. The murmuring continued as I took my leave. The woman who was outside when he made that comment laughed and said, “Madam, you get bad mouth oh.” When he spoke to me earlier, it was just myself, the woman behind me, and the security who heard him. But when I responded? The whole bank heard. Some people are too comfortable being disrespectful in public because nobody checks them. You see a stranger and body shame them for no reason? One day, you’ll meet someone who will respond in a language you understand. Anyway, I believe he has learnt his lesson cos honestly, badly behaved men need to be shamed. We do not shame them enough and that is why they feel entitled to throw insults carelessly. © Chinenye Azubuike

So I tried turning on the generator today and it is not bringing light. I called the repairer and he said this part is faulty in the gen. He quoted 20k for the original and 18k for the Tokunbo. Does anyone know how much this actually costs? I hope I’m not being duped.
