Everyday I post a morning dog walking music. I think I saw @TheGrindstone3 do it a year ago and I decided to follow suit. It’s given me a healthy structure and focus in the morning. The algorithm can be really useful sometimes. Every morning I walk the puppy, Sampson: 1/2 whippet, 1/2 hound. We go the same route, walking through the woods and circumambulating the old cemetery next door (hell yeah bonus points for the day for using that properly in context and in a sentence!!!) we do 1-3 laps depending on whatever.
It’s a gorgeous place. Not only is it still in use, with modern burials too, it’s well maintained and they just added benches. I sat on one for the first time and it’s like I was looking at a miniature map of the village of the past, with each headstone a small house sometimes sharing a parcel with family members over generations. There are some really old ones in here- like Ms. Hannah Tarbox Bacon born in 1768- like before there was even a United States! Andrew Foster born a year later and gone before the Civil War. And a World War I soldier. Anyways, it’s a gorgeous walk, just thought I’d share.
And I’m listening to some fantastic remakes by @theonliesband of traditional fiddle songs, including this one from their new album coming out Friday: “Waves on the Sea” from the upcoming album You Climb the Mountain. They’re a fantastic band and I can not wait for the rest of this album to come out. I like the string bands, what can I say?🤷♂️
