*Sigh* As Edward Said said decades ago Palestinians don’t have permission to narrate their own destruction. It can only be told by someone with supposed “authority” and through a Western gaze. Now dead Palestinians clamoring “yes it’s genocide” 20 months ago weren’t “huge” enough

finally completed a very important task i’ve been avoiding for several months. it took 8 minutes and zero effort on my part and i felt immediate and immense relief. i probably won’t learn from this

It's the oldest colonialist trick in the book calling indigenous people terrorists when they fight back against their murderous oppressors. Europe wrote the fucking book.

Solving the climate and ecological crisis, is not really about doing anything. It is far more about not doing things. Not over-consuming resources, being more frugal. Learning to be kind and compassionate, part of which means not being so selfish. 1/2

Today I went to a barber for the first time after losing my hair to chemo. My German isn't great so I had google translate ready with a note about what type of haircut I'd want and if they could help sort it out since it had become really patchy and uneven post-chemo

Anyway, if you're ever in Siegburg/Bonn and want to get a nice trim or fade, please visit 'Ali Baba Friseur' in Kaiserstraße. They're the sweetest Iraqi barbers and they definitely have my vote :) maps.app.goo.gl/dZ5dKtVynUvPXH…

I was insecure about my hair, especially since after cancer I have this fear of it just falling away again, but this person who I'd met for the first time was so kind for no reason and just rekindled my hope in humanity. Made me feel so much better about myself as well!

Even though we had trouble communicating, he just nodded and gave me the nicest fade and fixed my hair. In the end he refused to charge me, I insisted but he just smiled and said no. This all warmed my heart, because this stranger did this for me, out of the kindness of his heart

How can you be pro-climate justice when you're silent about what's going on in the world right now? How can you claim to be an activist, when your activism is only selective. How can you claim to be an advocate for human rights when your perspective is only global-north centric.

Racing Club have launched a campaign to raise awareness about testicular cancer 🇦🇷👏 The club made subtle changes to their badge over a 4 week period, gradually adding a noticeable lump on the lower right side, which many fans didn't notice 🤯 In a video today it was revealed that this wasn't just an honest mistake, it was a deliberate act to raise awareness of the disease 🙌 A great initiative from the Argentine club 💙💪

Average prices for a meal in Istanbul is about $15-20, almost like any US city. Crazy inflation.
