Qwen3.5-27B running via Cake in a cluster made of a linux laptop, an old linux desktop and an old-ish Macbook pro ... still slow, lot of work to do on communication protocol, but it works. Soon on iOS and Android too.

For the last couple of days i have observed Claude reversing the macOS app of my amp modeler. I could see the AI starting to understand the USB protocol, and things started moving on the device on their own. Now AI is writing the missing android app.

Working on a new project, a complete rewrite of Shieldwall and OpenSnitch, merged into one, in Rust and eBPF (XDP), TUI first. Modern, fast, and flies above any firewall so it't won't mess with docker configs ...

Think an intermediate representation for logical statements, like code from any language, we can natively translate to/from. If we could execute IR deterministically, LLMs stick to their strengths as a universal interface, while simultaneously reduce problem solving variability.

This new malware is VirusTotal's hottest sample. It's got everything - cryptors, stealers, multiple stages, and string references to MTV's Dan Cortez

@HackingDave @curi0usJack If you're going to lean on AI/ML you have an obligation to monitor its accuracy. We should embrace it but it doesn't absolve us from the same responsibilities we used to have.

@curi0usJack Yah totally understand, I think the value to me at least in this context is more a long the lines of a better Google or way to get answers that help augment the person. Super powerful and cool. :-)

@psifertex It’s like a bad consultant, some of the info is spot on and some of it is pixie dust.

Listening to my son justify why ChatGPT isn't full of it as he tries to get it to explain subtle concepts from the magic systems of the cosmere reminds me of why people like astrology. If you squint hard enough, any vaguely informed and generic statement looks correct.

@kyleaward The updates look great, should we expect the “+ difficulties” charts to continue grow over the comming months?

really excited about the recent #StepManiaX game software updates. Inclusions of things like gamertag displayed in gameplay, additional "+ difficulties" to help smooth larger gaps in progression, private score tracking (non public ranking) and a new visual difficulty meter!

@HushCon Anyone who is interested in red teaming, packet crafting, and understanding how the network stacks have changed on Linux and Windows to respond to new high bandwidth demands in the cloud should get a lot out of this talk!

For our keynote we have the illustrious @richinseattle. He'll be talking about "Evolution of Stealth Packet Filter Rootkits" This feels like something you shouldn't miss.

OpenSSL 3.0.7 tarballs are posted here: openssl.org/source/openssl… It appears based on release notes that this is overblown. Would require a vulnerable TLS client to connect to a malicious server - more phishing-based attack versed remote RCE. #openssl

Who’s hiring these days for staff / principal-level security research? Amazing source auditor, lots of experience in pretty much every area - Mac / Linux, iOS / Android / embedded. Asking for a friend with really strong skills and background. He’s looking for IC or team lead.

@NikitaTarakanov @_ringzer0 @nitayart It focused at the time on Shannon baseband, so an old galaxy s6 device (old very specific firmware). Basestation was a BladeRF with openbts if I remember correctly.

Thanks to @_ringzer0 and @nitayart for a very fun remote course!! I can strongly recommend 'Practical Baseband Exploitation' from Nitay and his team. The content and presentation was superb. Beware it's a very deep and wide subject... not a walk in the park 😎 remote > in-person
