First trial of the year planted. 4 hybrids planted 1.25” and 2.5” deep. Less than 24 hours ahead of cool rain. Not how I would do it commercially - we are doing science at the SLC. Our data long term says there is a time to not plant corn but not a time to plant corn shallow.

@bwildebeast @lobdellms @BurfordHarrison @Bugman70 It’s positional mapping of cotton. Basically, every position on the plant has a container and counter. Plants are hand picked into that system. Afterwards we can document changes in fruiting pattern, boll size, etc… from various treatments applied, insect damage and weather.

@gary_swords @Bugman70 @Hankcjag @DELTAPINE @BayerTraits @lobdellms It is a good one. Best I've picked so far was a little over 2000 lbs/ac but a bunch of it has been 1600 or better. You doing OK? I pass through your part of the world in the winter occasionally.

This is not our best year but at least we opened the bottom crop. It was a very light disease year. I haven’t seen that in a blue moon!

This plant needs a name - or maybe at least a nickname. It’s a DP 2127 B3XF plant that has become the unofficial LC mascot. We plan to keep it growing around the office for a while. Any suggestions??
