This really brings a tear to my eye. As shown in Martin Scorsese’s Hugo, so much of Georges Méliès’ groundbreaking filmography was destroyed or lost. This is a huge discovery for film preservation. I’m always moved when these things happen.

In September, a box of old film reels was donated to the Library's National Audio-Visual Conservation Center. One of them was a nearly 130-year-old, long-lost film by iconic French filmmaker George Méliès. It had not been seen by anyone in likely more than a century. 🧵 blogs.loc.gov/loc/2026/02/lo…

Robert Duvall and Tom Noonan passing within days of each other is so painful. Just insanely talented performers who elevated each film they took part in. They live forever in their art.

I love The Clone Wars because it was for kids and still took itself seriously. Both things can be true. Hell, I love all of Star Wars for that.

One of my favorite fun facts is that Spielberg advised the animators on this scene specifically, talking them through the emotions and the moment. It’s in the Behind the Scenes. Would recommend those if you haven’t checked them out!

prince of egypt really does such a great job with realizing someone you love is genuinely a bad person. the expressions here are incredible and he doesn't need to say a word for us to know what he's thinking.

It is a testament to Guy Moon’s talent that I almost never saw him in my time as a director on The Fairly Oddparents . What I mean by that is this: I never once felt the need to direct him, because I knew he would hit it out of the park every single time. And he did. Without fail. He was our Carl Stalling. His compositions were an integral part of the show’s character. My heart goes out to his family and friends. May his legacy provide us with his signature jazzy, upbeat rhythm in our hearts forever.
