Ekijja simuntu: not only has fuel prices jumped from 5300 to 5700 in a day, now fuel stations have started rationing the fuel. I went to TOTAL KAVULE and I was told I can’t fuel more than 50k. Guy insisted that each customer is only given fuel of 50k. Next time it will be 20k. We envisaged this situation before but our policy makers rubbished it but here we are.

This Wednesday on JSC Conversations, we host a lawyer whose name has become synonymous with taxation law in Uganda. Dr Oscar Kambona is a founding and senior partner at @KAAdvocates, he is one of the country’s leading tax practitioners, and a lawyer who has spent his career at the intersection of law, revenue and economic policy. He recently earned a Doctor of Laws (LLD) in Taxation from Makerere University, adding academic depth to a practice already respected across the profession. Beyond practice, he has helped shape the next generation of lawyers, teaching taxation at the Law Development Centre and contributing to the intellectual development of Uganda’s tax jurisprudence. In short, when Uganda’s legal profession speaks about tax, Dr Kambona is one of the voices that defines the conversation. This week he joins us to talk all things tax; the powers of the taxman, the protections of the Constitution, and the delicate balance between raising revenue and safeguarding the rights of taxpayers. If you are a lawyer, a business owner, a policymaker, or simply a citizen trying to understand how the tax system really works, this is a conversation you should not miss. Wednesday | 7:00 PM EAT Live on X, YouTube and TikTok. #JSCConversations

@VanillaDeedle @johnamonaco You are just providing more proof of your ignorance. Take time to actually learn the truth of the institution, person, system or subject you would so want to hate or criticize…it would help your cause. Just saying

@Preteristesch @needGod_net Faith demands obedience to his teachings. These sacraments are based on Scripture which sadly, is not a menu to pick and choose from based one’s tastes and preferences. John 3:5 for example, is indicative of his teaching. You blurr his word by seeking to disobey his teaching.

Catholics have always blurred Justification and obedience to rituals “sacraments” as a means of salvation. Post AD 70 the church partakes “a new” with Christ in the kingdom. Christ is our Passover Lamb that we daily partake of. We were spiritually baptized into Christ upon faith (Rom. 6 / 1 Cor. 12 / Cols. 2).

@Karigwe It is a common problem that confuses literacy with comprehension. In many debates between Christians professing different doctrines, this same problem of poor comprehension keeps happening. Your earlier post was clear for those who approach debate without emotions.

Reading the comments, I’m honestly disappointed in Christians. If you can’t read and understand a simple Twitter post, how do you people even understand the Bible? From most of the replies, it’s clear the only things you saw were “I’m not a Christian”, “Paul”, and “no witness”. Everything else went over your heads.

I’m not a Christian, but I have a simple question. Since you are talking about witnesses. Abeg, who witnessed Muhammad’s encounter with angel Jibril? He received revelations over 23 years, so someone must have seen or heard something. If Paul’s experience is dismissed because it lacked witnesses, what standard are we applying to Muhammad’s experiences, which had zero eyewitnesses to the actual encounters? Either private revelation is acceptable as a basis for religion, or it isn’t. You can’t reject Paul’s claim for lack of witnesses and then exempt Muhammad from the same standard without special pleading. If the rule is “no witnesses, no credibility,” then that rule collapses Islam even faster.
Maliq@MasterMaliq

It’s Sunday again, so here’s a question for my Christian friends. Paul never met Jesus, wasn’t one of His disciples, and even hunted down those preaching Him. Then he suddenly claims he saw Jesus on the road to Damascus with no witnesses. Yet he became the main voice shaping Christianity, defining salvation, the Law, church rules, and even views on women. So are Christians following the teachings of Jesus, or the theology of Paul? And if questioning Paul feels like questioning Christianity itself, what does that say about the foundation?

@Batt4Christ @BreeSolstad Where did I ‘refuse’? The challenge is that you either have obstinately refused to learn Catholic doctrines on faith and works or just stubbornly misrepresent the same. Please go back, in humility, and study the Catechism of the Catholic Church on the subject then return.

Faith without works is dead. I absolutely agree. The question is what is the meaning/purpose/source of “works”. “He saved us, not by works which we did in righteousness, but according to His mercy, through the washing of regeneration and renewing by the Holy Spirit,” (Titus 3:5) The problem is, you refuse to recognize that works of a believer are the outflow OF regenerating faith, not a cause of salvation. The new heart and new Spirit lead to loving one-another (the brethren), loving our neighbors, and fruits that come from that love. James wasn’t wrong. He was using sarcasm. One cannot show faith without works because works ARE the evidence OF faith. If anyone claimed to “know God”, yet has no outward evidence, then they do t truly “know” God.

@Allesontiire Well, your heretical beliefs or ignorance of scripture is not necessarily something you should be amplifying with joyous abandon. Matthew 26:26–28 Mark 14:22–24 Luke 22:19–20 1 Corinthians 11:23–26 John 6:51 and 6:53–56 1 Corinthians 10:16–17 Corinthians 11:27–29

@Batt4Christ @BreeSolstad I don’t need to ‘know’ you but can know how your emotions are from reading your responses. Only you have mentioned that works are the cause of salvation. Another example of what you imagine is the doctrine of faith AND works (works being the fruit). These are not exclusive

Emotionally? You obviously don’t know me, my background, or my education. You ignore context and the actual words Jesus spoke. You dismiss the repeated, inspired text of the New Testament. I guess the writer of He Rees was also making up his testimony regarding the Old Testament heroes of Hebrews 11. When one takes Scripture as a coherent revelation of God’s grace and redemption of sinners… we find that salvation is 100% the work of God. Works are the EVIDENCE OF salvation (a natural fruit of the work of God In us). For works to be a cause of salvation would not only directly contradict Scripture, but would imply we have anything of our own that is good and untainted by sin. And that would be a massive error.

@TheBibleIsJesus Welcome to Catholicism. While at it, have the humility to at the very least, know what Catholics teach and believe before attempting to throw around prejudicial falsehoods. Go on…get the Bible and the Catechism of the Catholic Church and read it to understand.

@BahBahBased @BreeSolstad As for Cherry picking, yes, you cherry pick and erroneously cite and freeze on Romans 3:28 which is negates works of the law. It certainly doesn’t negate works of Faith. Distinguish the two works and you will, if humble in spirit appreciate the Catholic doctrine on this issue.

@BahBahBased @BreeSolstad Just for clarity, the Catholic position: We are saved by grace, received through faith, and that faith must become living and active in love, so works don’t “earn” salvation, but they are the necessary fruit of grace and part of our cooperation with God after we receive His grace

@BahBahBased @BreeSolstad That is if you choose to ignore multiple scripture to the contrary. The bible is to be read as a whole not in isolation of other equally relevant but (possibly in your position) uncomfortable texts.
