Consent is key to great AI. At @Basecamp_Res, we've shown you can create cutting-edge AI while ethically sourcing 100% of the data. We built the largest biodiversity database and can trace each data point not only to the land owner’s consent but also a benefits-sharing agreement

@VGuernier @theBentoLab @nanopore but that requires using 0.2ml PCR tubes, so that's not suitable for all applications. Other than that it's a really cool piece of equipment, and it's making mol bio much more accessible for a lot of people :)

@VGuernier @theBentoLab @nanopore Sorry for the late reply, Vanina! I love the Bento Lab, for me it produced comparable results as traditional molecular equipment :) Only downside is that there's no 1.5ml heating block option. The workaround is to use the PCR block as a heating block, 1/2

Our #Tech4Wildlife community also showed off their adaptability, like in Ineke Knot’s photo working on eDNA projects from home. Finally, we saw the joy of working in the field, with beautiful entries of community members on the ground collaring Caribou and Muskox.

@ieknot from @Basecamp_Res delivered her speech at the #SYNBCONF2023. She said that a lot of research in biodiversity especially microbes is still lacking and alot of microbes have not been discovered. @ieknot is an enthusiast in primate research.
