Really wish @webflow had a Tailwind option. I feel like the lack of a powerful utility CSS framework like Tailwind is a real limitation.

Finished this 8-page project in Figma. Would you recommend Webflow or Framer to build it? Which one can build animations faster? I want it to be interactive but can't spend all day.

My wishlist for @webflow components: 1) Re-ordering components & component folders with a visual on hover I so badly want this, it'd make life so much easier for devs and clients. This visualisation by @_byrahul is perfect. 2) The ability to add components and make use of component props via "edit mode" or whatever becomes the default editor Again for clients this would be crazily useful and it'd be a way of keeping clients away from designer view, but still giving them a way of assembling pages. Ycode has a good implementation of this. 3) Focus mode for component props Despite not using focus mode in the navigator, I think I would use it for component props. So one panel would close when you open another to make it easier to navigate. Clients find it a little much to look at as things stand. 4) Bulk reset props or by folder Would just be useful if you've got a lot going on!

I really hope nested collections is expanded by Webflow at some point in future. It's just so limiting at the moment. Without the @finsweet nest feature I'd have had no choice but to use WordPress where you can do this easily.

If you don’t fit into the Framer or Webflow camp, I’d recommend giving @ycodedotcom a try. You can create native web apps without the need for third party tools like client portals, user generated job boards etc. It’s massively underrated 👍🏻

@samharrisonco @unrootdesign @ycodedotcom It depends how you compare and what features you need. Ycode has as a lot of stuff that's not available on Webflow: unlimited nested collections, user authentication, form submit to CMS, filter forms, native Airtable integration.

On balance I’d still say Webflow is better at the moment. But Ycode is very new so that’s not surprising. It’s missing the level of detail you can achieve with webflow animations and is missing css transitions controls and some cms features like referencing cms items in code embeds. But considering how new ycode is, it’s very impressive how close it is and I love how it approaches classes using tailwind and layer styles for global styling. I definitely want to start using it for some projects.

Enjoying playing around with @ycodedotcom a bit more recently. Having the ability to allow users to create, update and remove items from their own user page is one area they’re ahead of Webflow. So if you’re creating a marketplace or any kind of listing site, your users can update their own profile! Plus it has native airtable integration. Definitely worth a look if you haven’t tried it 👍🏻 ycode.com
