@ChadMoran It feels like the "black box" stating the driver disengaged autopilot is just a failsafe to protect Tesla from being sued when shit like this happens. Any time the autopilot fucks up, blame the driver. Then it's them vs the "data". Lol

I normally don't bother armchair quarterbacking these situations. But watching the Tesla Stans come into the comments is funny. Elon said Autopilot (FSD?) was disengaged 4s before the impact which if you watch the video looks like it was going way too fast at that point. Am I missing something?

@EDMIRE2k Unless there is something new in the latest version, when devs enable DLSS engine-side, DLSS still runs POST rendering pipeline, so it changes what's on screen, regardless if it is fed info from materials, motion vectors, etc. It does not influence lighting calculations, CMIIW

@igp It’s not interpreting what’s on screen. The data it uses are fed directly from the engine itself, all of the geometry and the motion vectors. It’s not just slapping a filter onto the screen. There is indeed SOMETHING going on engine side otherwise it would look much worse.

I enjoy DLSS for its capabilities with anti-aliasing and performance by filling in resolution gaps, but genuinely who the fuck greenlit layering generative filters that completely change the art direction of games? If we have to live in slop-world, at least make this optional...

@EDMIRE2k That is the issue, DLSS is going entirely screen-based, it's not integrating into the game, detecting light sources, and adjusting the shadow of materials based on those lights. It's entirely AI interpreted based on what's on screen. This is basically what AI face filters are lol

@igp All it’s going is changing pixel color data by using the same motion vector and material data any other version of DLSS needs. It’s magically rendering some new image, it’s just changing the lighting within materials and contours which makes certain things look off

@evans_nj I meant the lighting adjustments/changes not the core of what DLSS was before. It should be an optional lighting feature and not something baked into DLSS overall

Well my youngest might have lost his big toe today. At the hospital trying to put it back together. Huge bench tipped over and his toe took full hit. Not pretty. I wish I could take his pain away. This sucks so much.

This is why I cannot stand the vast majority of modern tv shows & movies… I’m almost 5 episodes into Monarch: Legacy of Monsters and BOOM! the main character is outed as a lesbian. What a waste of my time this show turned out to be. I’m sick and tired of the amount of woke nonsense shoved down our throats. Hollywood, enough with the LGBTQ in movies and shows.
