ISIS Is an Evil and Dangerous Terrorist Organisation With NO Connection to Islam The Australian National Imams Council, as the highest Islamic and religious authority in Australia, together with its member Imams and religious leaders, unequivocally condemns ISIS as an evil, dangerous terrorist organisation whose actions and ideology stand in complete opposition to the teachings of Islam and the values upheld by Muslims worldwide. This position has been clear and consistent by ANIC since the very emergence of ISIS and has been maintained without hesitation ever since. The Muslim world has suffered firsthand at the hands of ISIS, with the overwhelming majority of its victims being Muslims. Communities across the Middle East, Africa, and beyond have endured mass killings, displacement, and the destruction of places of worship, including mosques. ISIS does not represent Islam or the Muslim world in any way. Its ideology is evil and rooted in violence and terror. It bears no relationship to Islamic teachings, ethics, or scholarship, which emphasise the sanctity of life, justice, and mercy. ANIC and its member Imams have been clear, consistent, and vocal in opposing ISIS and its followers. In 2017, ISIS publicly listed ANIC’s senior members as targets to be killed. This was part of ISIS’s campaign of intimidation at the height of its activity and acts of terror. ANIC, together with Muslim leaders and scholars globally, firmly rejects the use of the term “Islamic State”. We call on all authorities, political leaders, and media agencies to refrain from using this label and to refer to the group only as ISIS or Daesh. This terrorist organisation does not deserve any association with Islam in name or description. We also reject any attempt to connect ISIS or its members to Islam or to frame its evil and dangerous ideology as a distorted version of the Islamic faith. All reputable and prominent Islamic institutions, scholars, and Muftis across the Muslim world have openly, repeatedly, and unequivocally condemned and denounced ISIS and its ideology. This includes leading global Islamic authorities such as Al-Azhar Al-Sharif, the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation, the Muslim World League, the International Union of Muslim Scholars, Dar al-Ifta al-Misriyyah (Egypt), Majelis Ulama Indonesia, the Council of Senior Scholars in Saudi Arabia, and the European Council for Fatwa and Research, among many others. There is no legitimacy, credibility, or scholarly support for ISIS within mainstream Islam. Anyone connected to, supporting, or promoting ISIS ideology must be denounced and held accountable. A NATIONAL HERO An Australian, A Syrian and A Muslim, sacrifices his life to protect others. 43 year- old fruit shop owner, Ahmad Al Ahmad single handedly disarmed one of the shooters. Instead of running from the danger, he ran towards it and put his life on the line for the sake of others. We pray for his speedy recovery, and the recovery for all victims and families affected by this senseless and evil attack. The Grand Mufti of Australia, Dr Ibrahim Abu Mohamed along community leaders visited this great national hero.

Fruit Shop Owner Turned Hero As the horrific incident in Bondi unfolded, a 43 year- old fruit shop owner, Ahmad Al Ahmad single handedly disarmed one of the shooters. Instead of running from the danger, he ran towards it and put his life on the line for the sake of others. All of Australia has been mesmerised by this courageous and heroic act, and we aspire to be like him. It did not matter to Ahmad who the perpetrators were, who the victims were, or what their motives were. All that mattered was the sanctity and protection of human life. We are taught that taking one life is akin to the life of all of humanity, and to save one life is akin to saving all of humanity. In this moment we must share Ahmad’s selfless attitude, and unite under our love for one another. This is not a time for finger pointing, blaming groups, or scoring political points. Bilal Raud, ANIC spokesperson spoke to ABC today saying: “The people who perpetrate these horrific crimes have one objective, and that is to divide, and to tear us apart.” We applaud his actions, and hope to see him rewarded for his heroism. We pray for his recovery, and the recovery for all victims and families affected by this senseless attack. We hope the perpetrators are held to account and have the full force of law applied against them.

The BARIC Mosque planning proposal was unanimously adopted by City Council 11-0. I am proud of our City Council for standing up in a united fashion against hate, misinformation & sadly too many islamophobic comments. The @CityBrampton will always employ the same planning rules and principles to all places of worship. We won’t be bullied into different planning standards based on the faith of the place or worship. In Canada, we will always value freedom of religion.

In the last 72 hours, Israel launched a preemptive strike against Iran when negotiations between Washington and Tehran were still ongoing. Iran was caught off-guard. But Iran recovered more quickly from its Pearl Harbor moment than Israel expected. In less than 18 hours after Israel’s surprise attack, Iran responded firing hundreds of ballistic missiles including hypersonic missiles into central Tel Aviv and across Israel. Meanwhile, Israel's Iron Dome failed. Israeli intelligence failed. Now Netanyahu is pleading with Washington to intervene with American Military Power to rescue Israel from certain defeat; a defeat Netanyahu crafted with encouragement from Washington. At the same time, Russia, China, Pakistan and most of the Muslim World are rallying to Iran’s defense. Supplies, equipment and technical assistance are pouring into Iran.   It’s time for a reality check: Washington burned through $12 trillion in the Middle East since 2003. Result? 7,000 dead Americans. 50,000 wounded, open borders and 100,000 Americans dying yearly from Fentanyl poisoning. Today, the United States is $37 trillion in debt, a sum that does not include so-called “agency debt.”   77 million Americans voted for President Trump because he promised to end the overseas conflicts and halt the march to WW3. Trump’s mandate is unchanged: Secure America’s borders, ports and coastal waters. Deport illegal aliens, crush the criminals r-ping and murdering Americans. Restore the rule of law. But not one more drop of American blood for foreign wars.   One Israeli strike on Kharg Island—where 90% of Iran's oil exports flow—or Bandar Abbas terminals, and Iran closes the Strait of Hormuz. That's 20% of global oil supply. That means disrupted supply chains and runaway inflation. Gas hits $7/gallon overnight. Every working family crushed. Truckers can't deliver food. Economy crashes. For what? So Israel that started this insane war can drag Americans into a wider regional conflict with the potential for nuclear war?   We have 40,000 troops in UAE, Qatar, across the Persian Gulf. They are sitting ducks. Iranian Shahed-136 Drones cost $20,000 each. American Patriot Missiles cost $4 million per interceptor. Do the math. We will run through our inventory of missiles and go broke while Americans come home in boxes.   The Middle East is on the brink. Here's what Washington must do to defuse conflict:   1. Ask for an Emergency UN Security Council meeting. Ask for an Immediate ceasefire making it clear that Washington opposes the destruction of Iran, Israel and any other state in the Middle East.   2. Demand that Israel stop the killing of Palestinians in Gaza and withdraw its forces from Gaza and the West Bank. 3. Suspend all military aid to Israel until Israel agrees to remove its troops from Gaza and permit humanitarian assistance to reach the people of Gaza. 4. Propose the commitment of Armed Forces from non-aligned nations to police Gaza and the West Bank. 5. Propose that the United States, Russia, China, India and Brazil convene a peace conference to arbitrate the dispute between Israel, Iran and Israel’s neighbors.   I led American Soldiers under fire into action. I've seen plenty of flag-draped coffins. I don’t want to see any more. Washington’s warmongers had 22 years. They failed. They lied. They profited while America bled. Time's up.   America First means AMERICA FIRST. Not Israel first. Not Ukraine first. Not NATO first. AMERICA FIRST.

This morning, the Canadian delegation for the Global March to Gaza held a press conference with supportive MPs on Parliament Hill. Activists from over 54 countries will march from Cairo to the Rafah border crossing to call attention to the Israeli-imposed blockade at Rafah,
