Today, I had the honor of serving as Special Guest of Honour and Chief Host at the presentation and review of Sheikh Abubakar Mahmud Gumi’s timeless book: “Where I Stand”, translated into Arabic by Dr. Ibrahim Jalo Jalingo. I conveyed the goodwill message of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, who commended JIBWIS for its immense contributions to moral guidance and education, while noting that the book is a timely tool for Nigeria’s moral regeneration. In my remarks, I eulogized Dr. Ibrahim Jalo Jalingo for bringing Sheikh Gumi’s thoughts to a global audience, thereby advancing the cause of knowledge and spiritual renewal. I also underscored Islam’s emphasis on learning, scholarship, and preservation of knowledge. From the Qur’an and Hadith to the intellectual contributions of Muslim scholars across disciplines, Islamic civilization has always been a beacon of enlightenment. Books such as "Where I Stand" embody the principle of Sadaqah jariyah—knowledge that continues to inspire long after the author’s passing. In recognition of the role of learning in the empowerment of the people and their moral and spiritual development, our administration has continued to accord special position to education and vocational training. I also reflected on Sheikh Abubakar Gumi’s legacy as a moral authority, courageous voice of the voiceless, and advocate for justice and peaceful coexistence. In a state as diverse as Kaduna, his commitment to interfaith dialogue and equity offers enduring lessons. My administration is committed to upholding fairness, tolerance, and inclusivity, inspired by Prophet Muhammad's Charter of Madina. Nafisah outperformed over 20,000 participants from 69 countries, including native English-speaking nations, to win the competition. We are all proud of you!!
