My life got a lot better when I viewed every problem as a skill issue. Out of shape? Skill issue. Ugly bank account? Skill issue. Anxious thoughts? Skill issue. I affirmed to myself these would go away if I got better. And magically, they did, once “I” did.

With AI and YouTube and podcasts and digitized archives, there has never been an easier time to learn from the greats. You have access to shareholder letters from the world's greatest CEOs. You can look up the NASA archives on how they went to space. You can watch Ivy League lectures on YouTube for free. You have the Library of Alexandria at your fingertips. Why wouldn't you take advantage of that?

The brain does not hate hard work. It hates unclear effort. If it cannot see where the work is going, how long it will last, or why it matters, it starts treating the task like failure instead of a challenge.

The happiest people I know all made a choice that looked unreasonable at some point. Left a great job. Turned down a raise. Moved somewhere without a plan. Sometimes the choices that look bad lead to lives that feel great.

Before you dedicate your life to something, define it. Vague chase can lead to frustration or unfulfilled ends. The quality of your definition determines the quality of your pursuit.
