@BaldingsWorld The Chinese have been raiding, occupying, and conquering the Vietnamese for centuries. The CCP didn't support them during the Vietnam War. The Vietnamese were the most pro-American country in SE Asia (ex-Philippines). In short, Vietnam & China are like Poland & Russia.

@BaldingsWorld @NikTSharma8 As a Viet, years ago I would've agreed with you. Now, especially the youth, I don't think so. If you can read Vietnamese, you will know what I mean regarding social media. I understand that one may say social media isn't everything, but it's hard for me to explain all in here.

@NikTSharma8 That's actually not true. Vietnam is probably the most pro-American country in the world....arguably even more pro-American than the US. Their government works closely with the US seeing the US as a good hedge against China

NEW: A 20-year-old woman went blind after wearing contact lenses in the shower during a trip to the Dominican Republic. Grace Jamison was exposed to tap water containing a microscopic parasite which got trapped under her lenses and embedded into her corneas, causing a severe infection. She was initially misdiagnosed and given steroid drops that made it worse. Within one week, she lost all vision in both eyes. After the correct diagnosis, she began intensive anti-parasitic treatment with eye drops every 30-60 minutes. The treatment is expected to last 6 months to a year. She has now regained partial vision in her left eye only. Never expose contact lenses to any water. This is brutal.

This is pure gold. A Ukrainian fighter, posing as a “participant of the special military operation,” infiltrated a meeting where students of Kuban State Agrarian University were being recruited to sign contracts with the Russian army.

Shame on us. I think of the brave Afghans that stood alongside us against the Taliban, especially those I worked with personally during my four years in command of the NATO mission there. It is incomprehensible to me that we would not bring them here to the United States, fulfilling the most fundamental obligations of trust and honor. nytimes.com/2026/04/21/wor…

I’ve met many of these Afghan vets - both in Afghanistan and here in the U.S. - as have many lawmakers from both parties. They risked their lives alongside U.S. forces and believed the U.S. would honor its commitments. This is a stunning blow to this community.

This man called for an Uber to take him to the airport while traveling in Egypt. The price was 250 Egyptian pounds whose is about $4.83 cents. The driver stops in the middle of the highway and now is demanding instead of the amount that was agreed on, that he wanted $250 USD instead of Egyptian pounds. The driver is still refusing to drive, the problem is if the man gets out, the driver will more than likely take off and steal his luggage as well. Paying him more isn’t an option either because at this point he’s almost holding you hostage because he knows you don’t have many options, what would you do in this scenario?

This man was walking to the stadium when a man walked up to him and tied a “free” home made bracelet around his wrist for a festival that’s coming to town. After he does that he asks for a donation of 25 euros to help support Africa. When the man says he didn’t have any cash on him, the man the pulls his phone out and tells him to enter his info for a card donation payment. Should the man have just refused the bracelet, would you have given him 25 euros to help support Africa?
