Should notification be given before a vulnerability assessment is performed against a (unaware) supply-chain organization for another party? (Not just the product, but their entire public vendor network etc) [#pleaseshare for reach]

I had a carpenter bee repeatedly landing on my arms and face and licking me today. I licked my arm to figure out wtf was going on but it just tasted like plain arm. What the hell was that about.

Probably the best thing you'll see today. In 2017, a group of developers hilariously competed for who could create worst volume control interface in the world. The results 🧵 1/22

The Monte Carlo algorithm for estimating Pi, in Python on my Texas Instrument calculator, for Pi day... And a cake baked by my wife, to celebrate the event! 😉😋

@mitchellh This will never be good. The size of programs full of these bad techniques is enormous and hence not comprehendible.

You may not like it, but this is what peak programming looks like. It is immediately readable and obvious what it does. There’s no way this is a hot path function so optimizing for lines or instructions or conditionals just doesn’t make sense. Optimizing for readability does.

It's absolutely wild that this sort of thing happens in the US. I don't know a single iPhone user here in the UK that actively or exclusively uses iMessage. Cross platform messaging apps are hugely popular over here.

I’m about to let some air out of this sealed package from the 90s. Should I play Nirvana or something while I do it?

jq is turning out to be a better tool for this kind of exploration than I was expecting. It takes some getting used to the syntax though. This file has TONS of fields at every level of nesting. Here I am able to extract just the fields I want at each level.
